My first was a boy. Not going to lie, I really want a girl this time around!
Did you/do you have a preference for your second baby?

If we decide to have another LO we'd really want a girl. We're still on the fence about having another, but DH told me if we could guarantee a girl he'd be all for it, lol.
(There hasn't been a girl born into his family in 75 years.)

@FutureMrsMcK: ha, this is us, too. while I'd love another little boy I know DH really wants a girl and if it could be guaranteed he'd be on board as of yesterday!

@FutureMrsMcK: Wow that's a long time! That's sweet that he wants a girl too. DH wants two boys =/

For my first I was super set on having a boy, DD is not a boy. Now I want our next one to be a girl!!! No boys please! lol!

@prettylizy: Same! Hahaha . . . although I am pretty sure that we will have only one.

@FutureMrsMcK: That's a crazy long streak for boys!
I'm indifferent. I love my DS and would love another boy. But there's just something about little girls too. I'd be happy with either!

We have a little boy and when I got pregnant with #2, I really hoped it'd be a girl. And it is

@Springtime: @2PeasinaPod: We were at lunch with my ILs and some of FIL's distant cousins who are visiting from Switzerland and they were joking that DH would have to get a paternity test if E had been a girl since McK's apparently can't have girls! When I was pregnant it was a running (non)joke that if he was a she we would just have to get it over with and name her "Princess" because of how spoiled she'd be by all of the rest of the family!

We have a girl...I would love a boy for this one! I think we are done having kids after this so one of each would be ideal, so I can really feel "done", instead of wondering about the boy I never had

We were leaning toward another boy. After having DS1 we both agreed we would love to have all boys. We got our second boy.

Originally we thought there might not be a #2, so I was really hoping for a little girl with #1 - turned out to be a little boy, who I love to pieces and wouldn't change the way it worked out. But as much as I'd love for him to have a little sister...the thought of two boys makes me a little bit tentative about trying for #2. I have such a good relationship with my mom, and I'd love a daughter to have that with - but I would never want more than two, so there's more pressure with #2 if that makes sense;

We wanted a daughter so DD could have a sister.
Got a beautiful little boy instead!

I got my girl first, so I'm happy! I kinda want all girls, but a boy would be awesome too

I had a preference for a boy..but I also wanted a girl. Lol

I'm in the same boat at Twopeas and see Baos point of view too. We are most likely only having two children. It would be pretty neat to have one of each BUT I am also so in love with little boys and my son in particular. I feel like a house full of boys would be fun and never dull. We will see what the baby gods do for us when the time comes. At 36 I can only hope for enough good eggs to get a happy healthy baby.

Our first was a girl, so I had no preference for #2 - I would've been happy with either gender!
If my first had been a boy, I probably would've really wanted a girl for #2.

I didn't really care. It was nice to be able to re-use all of our clothes.

We have a girl, and we would love a boy, but I'm secretly hoping for another girl so my DD can experience that bond sisters have I will be thrilled with either!

We have a boy and I want another boy! Having them so close I really want to reuse all our clothing! Plus it will make sharing a room that much easier later on.

We have a boy - and really, I could go either way for #2... I actually really wanted a boy first.... And it would be nice to have a girl, but another boy would also be awesome, brothers! @FutureMrsMcK: wow, 75 years?! That is crazy!

We already have a little boy and for #2 I had a slight preference toward girl...just because I'm so girly and I'd love to have a daughter. I totally love having a little boy though so I wouldn't have been disappointed having all boys even! But #2 is a girl

We have a girl for our first and if I really had to state a preference, it would be for another girl! I'd love for DD to have a sister, especially as they're only going to be 19 months apart, but we'll also be very happy if this next LO is a boy!
pineapple / 12234 posts
I loved having a baby boy (still love having a big boy!) but I think I would want another girl since all of DD's clothes are gently used and newer so I could reuse them. Most of DS's old clothes had untreatable stains!

I have always said I wanted two girls. So I would prefer another girl, I kind of want a boy at the same time. So I think either way I will be happy.

My first isn't born yet but is a boy, and I definitely hope #2 is a girl!

I'd like to have a boy so that my husband could have a son, especially. But if we had another girl, then my daughter could have a sister, and I'd love that.
persimmon / 1447 posts
Nope. I had a strong preference for a boy with #1 and I just wanted a sibling for him so badly I didn't care if it was boy or girl.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
We haven't decided yet if we'll have another, but if we do I have no real preference. Since that's the case, I'd pick boy, just so we could reuse clothing.
pomelo / 5621 posts
We aren't 100% that we will have another. If we do I'd love another son, although a small part of me wants a girl. I know DH would love to have a daughter.

I would have been equally happy either way, but I wanted DD to have a sister since we are done at 2 kids. I have 2 girls.
clementine / 830 posts
We have a boy and he is beautiful but I would love for #2 to be a girl. Although I have to say there is something appealing about having two boys, especially they'll only be 16 months apart. Either way I hope they'll be best friends!

@Springtime: I want a little girl. But if we have another little boy I will not be sad.
GOLD / coconut / 8266 posts
We have a little girl and as much as I'd like another little girl (when the time comes!) I know DH would love a son. I grew up with two sisters so I'm clueless about raising boys.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I would like #2 to be a boy (then #3 can be a surprise!) but if #2 is a girl, I'll be psyched, too. I know DH is worried about the possibility of THREE daughters, though, lol. Me, too! Talk about drama
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
I will be happy either way. Our first is a girl and for the sake of me and my husband I would love for us to get to experience having one of each. But at the same time I would love for my daughter to have a sister.
