Not unless she gains 6lbs in the next 5 months!

    I wouldn't doubt it?

She was born at 7lb 9oz, and was 18lbs at her 6 month appt, and triple would be about 22 lbs which seems more than reasonable.

I've heard this but definitely think it's very dependent on baby's size at birth. We are on track to triple, but dd was only 6lb7oz at birth, so only needs to be 19lb5oz to triple. She's currently 17lb8oz at 9.5 months.

Yes, exactly. He was 8 lbs 2 oz at birth and 24 lbs 6oz at 12 months. His doctor said he must have read the book lol.

Yep. She was 5 lb 6 oz at birth and was 19 lb 8 oz at 12 months, but she was low birth weight for gestational age. I'm surprised that its the norm to triple by one year. It seems like that would be a lot for many babies born with average to above average birth weights.

More than trippled, but he was a preemie. Born at 5 lbs 9 oz...He is between 20 and 21 now.

Ha! He was 6 lbs 8 oz at birth. He is 22.5 lbs at 8.5 months. He has already tripled and then some.

    My kid is a linebacker.

Let's see, at birth he was 8lb,12oz
At 6 months he was 19lbs,5oz
And at 1 year he was 24lbs, 11oz.

    So yes, just about!

But at 19 months he's also the size of a two year old...

Hmmm.. she was 6.5 at birth and 18 last week at a 10 month visit... so she'll probably fall a little short!

Well he was 8lbs 3 oz at birth and is almost 20 lbs at 5.5 months so I'm guessing he will. He's a chunky baby, he's still gaining at least an ounce a day, I keep saying his weight gain has to slow at some point.

    @rahlyrah: lol, mine too

LO is 1 today! Nope. She was 6lbs 7 oz at birth. ~14.5lbs at 6 months (more than double). But just over 17lbs today.

Nope, she was 8 lb 5 oz at birth and I believe around 21 or 22 lb at a year.

Yes or close to it. I don't remember exactly what he was at 12m but at 15m he was 24.5lbs and tripling for him would've been 22.5. So I assume he had at 12m.

Yes. 7.9 at birth, and 25+ at 12 months. We call him our baby beast because he's hovering around 30 at 18 months.

    Nope!
She was 7.13 at birth and only 18 pounds when she was 1.
She is almost 2, and still hasn't tripled her birth weight.
