Growing up I always wanted a large family but now after #1 I think that we may be one and done for many reasons. our little one is so, so great, I worry about tempting fate with #2! crazy I know! Did your family plans scale down or up or stay the same after baby #1?

Before having #1 I wanted 2 children. After #1 I wanted a ton and we settled on 3. But after #2 I'm back to think just 2 is perfect. I'm 85% sure we're two and through but we've agree to talk about it again in about 6 months to a year.

We have always been planning on two with an option of a third. I'm leaning more toward 2 and DH is now leaning more toward 3...so we will see what happens after we have number 2!

Sort of. We were planning on waiting 3-4 years before TTC again, but have loosely decided to start trying for # 2 a bit sooner.

Yes! I always thought I would want at least 3 maybe 4 kids. But will probably be done at two.

We had our second pretty much purely because we wanted to give our first a sibling. We've been open all along but pretty sure we're 2 and through... although these days, who knows... we are definitely 2 and through FOR NOW!
ETA: I just re-read what I wrote and saw that I contradicted myself. Can you tell I'm undecided???

We always, always planned to have one and now I want a hundred (um, or at least 2) but it's probably not going to happen, wah!

Yes and no...while I was pregnant we decided we would be one and done, and we were on the same page. Then a few months after E was born I changed my mind back to wanting two, but DH hasn't yet. After several conversations he's agreed to keep the door open in the future but we are still in disagreement about it.

Yeah. I wanted 2-3, now want 1-2.
The reality of working with kids during the day and coming home to kids for years and years.. And the baby stage again... Bleh.

I wanted at least 2, but we will be done with 1. My nerves can not handle another close in age and I am too old to really consider another pregnancy when my son turns 5.

Our TTC journey and a very tough pregnancy (physically and emotionally) have dramatically changed our family plans. We always wanted three babies, but it looks like we may be one and done. At least through pregnancy. I'd like to think that we will eventually look into adoption when we are ready.

We will probably still have 2 or 3. The difference is now I'm sort if terrified. I didn't love the newborn stage.

I've always wanted 3...after #1 i still wanted 3. DH is very much two and through. When I got preggers with #2, I was still saying yay to 3! Now I'm totally ok with 2! DH is still on two and through

It was a bumpy road to get back to wanting another one. At one point, it looked like our marriage wouldn't survive the crap it took back in October. Once things got better, the baby talk started again. Our communication has been improving since then. I would have liked to be trying now, but losing weight is a priority. I'm keeping DH clued into my weight loss to keep the conversation going about it.

yes I orginally wanted 3 and not I think 2 is enough.

@looch: @beachbee: I agree with both of you. TTC with PCOS and a hard, high risk pregnancy and the fact that I know I couldn't handle two close in age is pretty much deciding for me that we are one and done. Money is a factor, too.
I am ok with thinking one and done now because, as others have said, adoption is always a great way to grow a family if I change my mind later. -
We were absolutely certain we wanted two, but now that we have DD we're pretty sure we're going to be one and done.
It's due to a combination of wanting to quit while we're ahead, and realizing that we'll probably be happier (and therefore be better parents) if we only have one child.

If I had my way they'd change. We agreed on two before having LO. After having her I wanted more, 3 at the least, maybe 4. But we can't afford that right now so it'll probably still be 2.
