I have a fairly uncommon name, always have to spell it out, always have to correct the pronunciation, etc. and my married name is unusual as well. As a result, I felt very strongly that LO have a common name, with an easy spelling and pronunciation.
Did your name influence your name choice for LO? If you were the opposite of me, common name, easy spelling, etc. did you gravitate toward more unique names?

I have an uncommon name that I usually have to spell for people. I wanted DS to have a unique name but not one that he would constantly be questioned about for pronunciation and spelling. He ended up with a very popular name instead!

I'm the opposite! Because of my super common name, I want to give my child an unique name - nothing crazy, just so they aren't one of 4 kids in class with the same name

Nope. My name isn't common or uncommon, its in the middle. It does get pronounced wrong..... But I didn't think about that when picking los name. Her name happens to be easy peasy though.

i have a very common name, and the only misspelling is whether or not there is an 'h' on the end. so because of that we wanted to name DS something that wasnt super common, but not out there either

My name is fairly common with different boy and girl spellings which is annoying. As a result i wanted our daughter to have a more unique but still traditional name.

Yes! My husband has a very common name, my name is very old fashioned- like all I hear is, "oh, that is my grandmother's name"
So we went for middle ground, farther up on the top 100 list.

@septemberlove: Yes, but my uncommon name caused me to want a less common name (not quite as unique) for lo. I've never minded the misspelling of mispronunciation though & P's name isn't really difficult just wasn't high on the popularity list.
