DH's parents called yesterday and said they had some boxes for us that were DH's childhood stuff. Boxes of books, toys, match box cars, star trek battle ships, stuffed animals, paper & stuff he wrote in school. It took a load in their SUV and my car to get it all here.
Did your parents keep your stuff or give it to you after you were grown and settled?
My mom has kept most of mine.

We have all of my stuff and DH's. We have gone through everything and consolidated so its just a couple totes.

They put it away in the attic and then when we bought our house my mom gave me my things. She kept some toys for future grandbabies and art work for sentimental reasons.

My Mom was so happy to give me 90% of it! I actually really love that DD is playing with all my old baby dolls and stuff. Yet, my Mom kept a really good amount of baby toys, so that when we go over to her house she has toys.

My mom has kept all of my stuff, but will give me whatever I want. DH's mom sends him the most random stuff. A couple of weeks ago, she sent him all his baby teeth. He's like-I don't want this stuff!

Hubs' parents still has tons of random stuff from his childhood. We were recently given his baby clothes and a few toys. I think that plan is for us to get the stuff as our LO is ready for it. My mom gave me the 2-3 boxes of stuff she had from me growing up.

We are kind of excited about some of the stuff. He has TONS of Star Trek stuff that we hope will bring in some good money! All of it is in excellent shape!

My parents keep trying to give me my stuff every time I go there to visit, but we have no room right now. When I get pregnant I plan to go through all my stuff and see if I can't find some of my favorites to take though.

They've kept some stuff with the intention of giving it to my sister and me when we have kids. My niece is now 3, so she has a bunch of it!

My mom gave me everything. I was a little hurt by it because I thought she would like to keep some momento of me... I don't have the room for most of it so I got rid of a lot. My mom was sad about it but I told her that if she was so nostalgic about it then she should have kept it! LOL

Right now there is a good amount in my parent's attic, not sure what will happen as LO gets old enough for it, whether they will give it to me or keep at their house to play with. Right now LO is the only grandchild, but my sister will probably have kids at some point too.

We just got a box of primary school stuff from DH's parents - some of DH's drawing from when he was really young are cool! I'm gonna frame and and put them in our nursery when we get pregnant

We had a big family so all my stuff was passed down to my sister... my mom did give me a few baby girl dresses that were mine and I cannot wait until I have a girl so she can wear them!

@Mrs squirreld: We found a bunch of his drawings too and plan on doing the same thing! Some of the stuffed animals we had to trash, I feared they were infested with the bubonic plague or something, they were so gross!

My mom got rid of it. I didn't want it. Kind of wished we'd kept a few toys maybe, but they would just sit in a box for forever I'm sure!
ETA: She kept some drawings/school projects/coming home outfit, etc. Just not all the toys we had.

All my stuff is at my parents house. I took a few things to our place, but a majority of it is still there. My room looks just how I left it, minus different sheets and curtains.
