My sister and I were both cloth diapered. My mom used a delivery service though, so she didn't have to do the laundering. I looked into using a similar service, but it ends up being a lot more expensive than using disposables, unfortunately. We live in an apartment, with communal laundry facilities, so I wouldn't feel comfy washing diapers myself.

My mom used cloth diapers with a diaper service for my sister and myself, but when my brother came along and she had a 7 year old and a five year old, she found it was too difficult to do cloth diapers while out and about all the time.

Yup. For all three of us. I remember being 5 or 6 and learning to fold my little sister's diapers. Eww, and also having to dip them in the toilet to get the poo off. I swear that's the reason I won't cloth diaper. I was scarred for life!

My mum swears that disposables 'weren't invented yet' when I was an infant - I was born in '82! She used flat terry yowling and safety pins on my right thru to potty training.
My sister born in '85 got a combination of CD and disposables... But I think she was still mostly in cloth. My mum is also amazed at how "high tech" modern cloth diapers are; I'm excited to show her my Charlie Banana AIOs when they're delivered this week!
