Yes! I had awful heartburn the whole time and I was even munching on tums while in labour and as soon as I delivered, that was it!

I didn't have many symptoms with LO1, so nothing to really disappear. I am so looking forward to the reflux and back pain being gone this time.

My heartburn stuck around for all of 2 days but I was so disappointed (hormones) that it didn't disappear right away. Haha!

Nope. I still have trouble is nausea at almost 11 months pp. All the rest of my symptoms disappeared tho.

For the most part, yes. I had constant heartburn with both pregnancies and it disappeared as soon as I went into labour both times. With DD2, I developed a bit of carpal tunnel and even now, at nearly 11 months PP, I still struggle with a little bit of niggling wrist pain. They've also been incredibly weak since I developed the carpal tunnel - I've always had pretty small wrists, so they've never been super strong, but they just feel so weak now! To be fair, I haven't done much to try and change it either.....but I still blame pregnancy!

My heartburn was gone overnight, i'm ready for that to be gone again!

Most everything was gone right after I delivered. Even with a C-section, I felt so awesome and healthy the day after I delivered since I *finally* didn't feel like I was going to puke and my back finally didn't hurt anymore!
Weirdly, I was never car sick before I got pregnant, but got really bad car sickness when I was pregnant and that has stuck around. It's not as bad as when I was pregnant, but I can't look at my phone or a book or anything while in a car now or I feel sick.

@yoursilverlining: ugh! This has stuck around for me too. I never experienced car sickness before pregnancy and now it happens every once in a while. Drives me NUTS.

It's so hard to imagine the heartburn going away overnight, I feel like this is just my life now!

The heartburn went away immediately, which was great. I found some changes to be longer lasting (can't say permanent at this point, but possibly so). Like my fingers swell when I'm hot much faster now. Also, it was a couple weeks before I stopped being hotter than my normal. I hadn't even noticed I was running hot, but a couple weeks postpartum I kept getting cold and couldn't figure out why, and finally realized I needed to go back to extra layers like I did before pregnancy.

The one symptom that I had was extreme edema in my feet/legs.......
I am 2 1/2 week PP and I think I am about 80% back to normal

I had some weird kind of numbness/water retention going on in my hands and feet that lasted almost a year pp.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Torchwood: That happened to me for quite a few months pp. Your body should eventually readjust, but damn, there was a long period where I was just a sweaty mess. lol. No one tells you about that.

My wrist pain stuck around for 7 months PP after LO 1.

Instantly!! I had forgotten how it felt not to have to share my body with another person. SO NICE!!

@yoursilverlining: yes! I would occasionally feel car sick before becoming pregnant but pregnant and now PP it's awful.
@MrsRcCar: my nausea stuck around for a while too
persimmon / 1273 posts
@Anya: I couldn't imagine it either, but it did and it was so great. I had honestly forgotten what it was like to just eat food and enjoy it sans Tums, discomfort, assorted grossness.
I started to run really hot while pregnant and still do. I dunno if it's hormonal from breastfeeding or if I'm just a fireball forever now.

Immediately. Heartburn, back pain, even fatigue. I was tired with newborn night waking, of course, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected because I was so tired while pregnant anyway.
At 39 weeks pregnant with LO#2, I cannot wait to be done and get my body back again. I forgot how awful the last few weeks are. Labor and delivery is seriously a piece of cake compared to this.

@sorrycharlie: Almost everything disappeared (sciatic pain, rib pain, shortness of breath, etc.) except the heart burn! It's still here, and I cannot figure out why! It must be the hormones that are still around since I'm BFing, but either way, I am super bummed it hasn't left yet!

Heartburn relief was immediate. Relief from swelling took 1-2 weeks. Relief from my thumbs popping out of their sockets (due to hormones and fluid) took several weeks/months. Sometimes it would happen while I was sleeping and the pain would wake me up.
I slept so much better though pp vs the final weeks of pregnancy that I actually felt more rested in those first few weeks, even as the sole person doing night wake ups!

Almost everything disappeared immediately (except for my hip pain that reemerged at 4 months pp). But then they were immediately replaced with postpartum symptoms (hair loss, totally weird/gross body odor, etc).
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Yeah the heartburn and sciatic pain immediately went away! Other stuff replaced it lol
pomelo / 5073 posts
Heartburn and my horrible attitude (I was really hormonal and blunt) went away immediately. Sciatic pain took about 3 weeks to go away.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Yep everything including heartburn went away right away... except breast tenderness....Bc of nursing.
nectarine / 2527 posts
Most of them did but I have to say I am still dealing with tailbone pain and DS is 10 1/2 months old. It's real aggravating
pineapple / 12053 posts
Yep, my circulation and sleep was terrible and I literally slept better the first night home than in the 6 weeks prior to her birth.

The only thing that I really had was ankle swelling, and that pretty much went away when I was discharged from the hospital.
