I definitely did... just because it's easy to maintain my weight when Bee is cooking, but when she's not feeling well - I just eat whatever is around (all the carbs!! mmm).

The first time, yes. This time, he lost his sympathy weight from the last pregnancy and I found it.

Big time. And he hasn't lost it 18 months later. I, on the other hand, lost all mine plus 15 pounds. He doesn't have the advantage of breastfeeding to lose weight, though.

No, but he definitely experiences "sympathy exhausted" when I do all do all the night wakings.

Yes he had more cravings than I did - it was insane. He ate a cheesecake in 2 days by himself.

No, with my first pregnancy he actually had a bit of a health scare/wake up call and started running and eating better. This time I think he's gained a bit of weight but it's more summer/beig too hot to run outside than sympathy I think, haha

Nope. He's generally got a good metabolism so his weight stays pretty steady no matter what he does.

No, but I think it was because I was lucky to not feel to terrible while pregnant so we were still able to mostly eat the same. BFing is a different story. I'm hungry and exhausted all the time so we've been eating much less healthy than during pregnancy

No and he's pretty skinny so he could afford to! It is totally vain but its really hard for me to weigh as much as him (and actually more at the end of my second pregnancy).

No, he's just continued to work out hard and have lots of results. It's hard for me to see him making all these progressions, while I'm going the opposite way.

@skipra: I feel the same way, dh usually weights just a little less then me, it's hard when I weigh so much more. He could use to put on a few pounds, but because I am eating so little still he is too.

First time? I think so! This time around, I think we're both losing weight b/c of our toddler lol.

Yep! He totally took advantage of my cravings and indulged as much as I did. I've lost most of the weight by getting back into a regular exercise routine but DH hasn't quite gotten his motivation back yet.

Mine does this thing where he launches himself into a personal fitness regime every time I get pregnant. This time around, it was crossfit. So yes, he's gained weight, but not sympathy weight. He's just gotten tons more muscle. Honestly I sort of wish he did the sympathy weight thing because it makes me feel sort of awful to see him looking more and more fit as I get rounder and rounder.

Yes!! I was so nauseous I was barely eating and definitely not cooking. So he ate a lot of takeout.

Yes! The first time, I ate everything, all the time. The second time, I was really sick but craved cake. He tried not to keep pace with me, but it wasn't easy

@skipra: Yep, I weigh 15 pounds more than my husband right now and I still have three weeks to go. It makes me so mad.

@maddyz: @avivoca: I thought I was the only one that paid attention to that sort of thing. I think I might be a couple pounds less right now and hoping I'm done with the weight gain!
