My husband is going to go to all of them with me, if he can.

The first visit was pretty important for him to be there because they ask questions about your health history and you may not be able to answer some questions about his family. I liked having him there for moral support. In the waiting room at my first visit, there were 6 women waiting. 5 had husbands with them, one was alone and 2 of the 5 had their kids with them, as well.

It does sound like your case is different b/c your office doesn't do the u/s or blood work. We had all that done that day while he was there. He doesn't want to miss hearing that baby's heartbeat.

When I was pregnant with my daughter he came to every single one of them. This time I will be lucky if he can come to any, he has a new job and works from about 5am to 5 pm every weekday He won't even be able to go to the first ultrasound...

DH came to the first appointment (which, for us, did include a sonogram) and any other appointment that involved a procedure (we had a CVS with our first pregnancy and an amnio with the second) or an ultrasound. (In general. With our first pregnancy, there were lots of problems early on so I was having sonograms twice a week for a while, and he didn't come to all that).
Most of your appointments are really just "measure you, pee in a cup, listen to the baby's heartbeat, do you have any questions." There were times when I was in and out within 15 minutes- I didn't think that was worth the drive or the time off work for DH. I think we'll go about things the same way for our next child.

My husband works long hours, so its difficult for him to go to all the appts. He was there for the first and NT scan appt, but I doubt he'll be able to get time off for many other appts. He said he'll try to be there for the gender scan and any other checkups that ultra important.

DH has gone to all of them so far including the initial appt which was pretty long. I was glad he was there since he remembered a lot of my questions that I wanted to ask and forgot about during the appt. He also asked plenty of questions himself which was nice.

Mine will be coming to as many appointments as possible, because my doc does an ultrasound at each appointment. I would think that it would be good for your husband to go to the first appointment (if you are meeting with the doc, and not just getting bloodwork), because they will probably give you a lot of information and it's good for him to hear this info as well.
And then ask your doc when your ultrasounds will be & make sure he goes to those ones if he can!

My husband just came to ultrasound appointments since, as others have said, most appointments are just "pee in a cup, measure, heart beat, weight" and therefore aren't that interesting. But if you don't know his family history very well, you might want him to come since they'll ask medical history questions most likely at the first appointment.

My husband went to the first appt and all other appts with an ultrasound. I went by myself for those in between appts.

My husband goes when he can. He has made sure to be there for the biggie appointments and if there are any concerns. Like your Dr, all ultrasound is done outside of their office, so the most he has missed is the doppler. As long as he gets an everything is ok text afterwards we are both happy.

When I get pregnant I am going to try to schedule appointments around my husband's work schedule. He really wants to come to all of them.

For our first child he came to every single one, his job was pretty flexible. This time he probably won't be able to make it many if any at all I loved having him there last time!

DH came to my first ultrasound appointment but hasn't come to any others. The u/s aren't done at my doctor's office so there's been no need for him to come to my standard appointments.

I am extremely disappointed though that he's going to miss the 13 week NT scan. I just found out today that he's going to be out of town for work that day and I am absolutely gutted. We are going to try to change the appointment but because I'm out of town until just before the appt and the NT scan has to be done within certain time frames, I don't think that's going to work.

Given our extreme level of disappointment at his missing this appointment, I'm pretty sure he will do everything he can to be at our 20 week scan.

We're not pregnant yet, but DH has made it very clear that he wants to be a part of the entire process with me. We are looking at drs in my hospital chain that are near our home versus my work (where I see my current ob/gyn) and plan on having DH coming with me to every appt.

Unfortunately, my husband can't go to most because of work. So far, he's gone to all the sonos and one regular doctor visit, but I'm fine with it. It's not by choice.

I generally go by myself or with my best friend. I think he's been to one appointment and two ultrasounds. There's no real need for him to come, and it's a pain for him to get the time off of work.

My husband has been able to come to all my appts except for one. He usually remembers the questions I have for the Doctor, becuase usually I go blank when they ask if I have any questions!

He came to all the important ones (all in the first trimester and all ultrasounds), but the more routine ones (especially once they became once a week in the third trimester) I went alone.

I enjoyed having DH with me at all my appointments and exams.

DH has gone to almost every prenatal appointment. We spend at least half an hour talking with the midwives. Half the time he has more questions/concerns than I do, so it's definitely worth having him there.
