My MIL and I are very similar in how we view things but our personalities are different. We get along REALLY well (DH and I joke that she is my BFF haha) and I am really lucky to have such an awesome MIL!!
She is more emotional and sensitive than I am.. and she's very soft natured and can be a push-over. I'm the opposite on all accounts haha.
DH and my Dad are both strong, silent types.. both really funny and both very thoughtful!

Completely different! Hubs did NOT marry his mother AT ALL. We're NOTHING alike!
I did marry my father, though!

I don't think we are anything alike! She is a typical country housewife and super handy (DH grew up on a chicken farm). I'm a suburban/city girl and I like to be taken care of! Haha.
I did marry a version of my dad though!

We are definitely similar in many ways (our taste in design/clothes, how social we are, our senses of humor, love of sports despite being very girly). However there are also things about us that are completely different.
Similarly, there are things about DH that remind me SO much of my father. These are things that I would have had no way of knowing before--things you only discover after being married! It's true that you subconsciously do this! Crazy.

noooo way. at least, I don't think so. and he's not on speaking terms with his mother so I don't think he sees us as similar people.

Nope, not at all!!! And he's the complete opposite of my dad.
