I've heard alot about these ultrasound places that say they can tell you at 16 weeks whether you're having a boy or a girl. The one I've heard people talk about is called "Becoming Mom".
It's supposed to be ~$100. I'd do it! lol, I think it'd be hard to have someone living inside me for 20 weeks/5 months and not know! haha, I could never be team green!

We found out at our NT scan at 13 weeks..so we didn't have to wait long at all. I wouldn't pay to find out early, though, if we had to wait longer, we just would have waited.

@septemberlove: I had a strong preference for our first to be a boy and DH had a strong preference for a girl! Our LO is a girl and I couldn't be happier!!

I found out yesterday at 18 weeks for $79. Could have done it at 16 but wanted to wait for my moms visit.

We found out at 16 weeks. I believe it was around $100 and it was great because they streamed it online so our families watched with us. We both wanted a girl and she is indeed a girl.

We found out at 16 wks because that was when part 1 of our anatomy scan was. So we didn't have to pay for if!

We found out at 12 weeks and couldn't believe it so early. We didn't really tell anyone until confirmation at 20 weeks and it was right. I wouldn't pay extra money to find out though...that's just me.

We were thinking about finding out early since it was only gonna cost 39 bucks to do the gender scan. Decided against it though. Didn't want to be disappointed later if it turned out that the early read was inaccurate.

We found out at 12 weeks from a 3D ultrasound place. It was $79 and they told from the beginning that unless they were 150% sure the gender they would not tell us and instead bring us back the following week to check again. It was totally worth it for us as I am not a patient person.

I'd just wait but I took a home gender prediction test and it was right for olive. i found out she was a girl at 20 weeks. for charlie my regular ob told me it was a boy at 16 weeks.
ultrasounds can be inaccurate at 16 weeks for gender when it's a girl!

Interesting... Are these stand-alone ultra sound p,aces tha are NOT at your doctor's office?? Will have to look into it when the time comes, especially if it's under $100

I would totally pay. I am going to try and wait out till my gender scan but my friend went to a place and it was only $40. Which I don't think that is a lot.

I think I'll find out ahead of our anatomy scan. I have a family reunion during my 17th week and it would be nice to be able to surprise my family with the gender in person. If we weren't going to see family between now and the anatomy scan I probably wouldn't bother.

we just waited for the scan. I didnt want to find out early because I knew it was more likely to be accurate if I waited.

We found out at 16+4. I think we paid around $120 (it was £79, which I think was about that at the time). It was worth it to us because the base here cannot guarantee gender results and sometimes won't even look for you, depending on the tech.

How accurate is 19 weeks? I keep worrying that the tech was wrong, and we will have a very oddly dressed boy! We were given a picture labeld "xx" but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at in it!

@Mrs. Cat in the Cradle: We found out at 18 weeks and the tech was 100% sure. I also feared that we would have a little boy and a bunch of pink clothes, but LO is a sweet baby girl. I think if you can't quite tell what you're looking at, chances are it's a girl. All of the boy ultrasound pics I've seen are pretty clear

We found out at 17 weeks. My doctor's office offered it for $50. I just couldn't wait another 4 weeks for the anatomy scan. I'm glad we did it.

The way my appts fell, it worked out okay for us and waiting until our anatomy scan at 19 weeks wasn't too bad. DH also didn't want to chance a "mistake" any earlier, so we held off for the a/s.

We found out at 19 weeks, I think it was perfect, yes I was anxious to find out but we decided the wait was part of the excitement!

I went to the same place as TravelingBrit and I found out at 15 weeks....It was totally worth it bc it's made the pregnancy more "real" since we can shop for our little girl now! Although I have mild anxiety that at our 20 week scan this Friday they're going to say it's a boy instead! Eeeek!

I say no harm in finding out early BUT i would keep an open mind until 18-20 weeks because there is more margin for error early. Even then people have made mistakes so stay open in your heart. Also be aware that many doctors don"t recommend too many ultrasounds especially at boutique places where the machines are calibrated much higher. not enough is known to determine the possible effect on baby but personally i wouldnt want to risk it.

@septemberlove: Don't agree to that!!! My grandmother had FIVE boys before she finally had a girl, and then she thought her luck had changed and had TWO more boys!!!

We found out at 16 weeks, but it was an u/s through the doctors office, not something we paid for on the side.
@jholler25: I was afraid of that the entire pregnancy! I don't think I relaxed about it until I had an u/s at 34 weeks and the tech confirmed she was still a girl.
