Coke, Teas, Coffee, Chocolate...etc?
I'll have a sip of coke when I eat pizza, Chinese food, burgers..
I'll drive a decaf latte every once in a while too.

I had a little coke (as in, 1-2 cans total) during first tri for headaches (per rec of my OB). I couldn't stomach idea of coffee.
now in the 2nd tri, I have more - maybe one small coffee (usually a frozen one, because it goes down easier?) every 1-2 days..and chocolate is few and far between for some reason. i've been big on sugar in general, but not chocolate.

Yes, almost every day. The "allowances" are pretty lenient, and i can't imagine they would tell you caffeine is fine in moderation if it wasn't. I don't drink decaf because of the chemicals. I'd rather get a little caffeine than chemicals.

Yes, I drank tea and soda every once in a while. Everything in moderation.

Every once in awhile, I love sweet tea right now so that is my go to source. If I feel like a pop I just choose a caffeine free one and my body doesn't mind.

I"m having a very small cup of coffee right now! My OB told me that she continued to have a regular cup every day during her 3 pregnancies...I never end up finishing mine anyway.

I have a cup of coffee every morning (and have my whOle pregnancy) and the occasional soda. I also have chocolate occasionally. All within my OBs allowable limits.

I have a lil bit of coffee every now and again. But for the most part I've stayed away... esp since I'm still in the first trimester.

I only have a little soda depending in what I'm eating. I haven't had tea since I found out i was pregnant though. Chocolate in the other hand i can't get enough of...

Not really. I've been making decaf iced tea at home and mainly drinking that when I crave the taste of it. I may have some here and there once I'm out of the first trimester, but I haven't decided yet. I've had a little bit of chocolate, but it was milk chocolate and not high quality stuff, so I don't think it has much caffeine. I can't stand coffee, so that was never an issue for me.

i have a cup of english breakfast tea with milk maybe 2-3 times per week.

I'm not much of a soda drinker but I would crave it during pregnancy. My OB said it was ok in moderation but stay away from diet soda. So i had a few sips of regular soda every week...
Now I am craving a fountain Coke with ice!

I couldn't drink coffee in the first trimester. Now that I'm feeling better, I've been having an iced coffee every few days. It especially helps when I have a headache.

I'll eat a little bit of chocolate, but that's it. No soda, tea, or coffee. I'm so glad I never got into that habit!

I rarely drink/eat it anyway. Sometimes I'd have a sip here and there, but nothing major.

Only tea (hot and iced). My coffee is decaf (which I know has caffeine, but not much- and I have a cup a week) and I drink Sprite when i want a soda.

I would drink sweet tea occasionally. It was my biggest weakness. When I wanted a coke, I would drink the orange-mango flavored Sparkling Ice water. I loved those while I was pregnant!!

I couldn't drink coffee at all during the first trimester, but I had the occasional soda. Now in my second, I have a cup of coffee most mornings, and occasionally a soda. I don't really drink tea or eat chocolate. I'm still well within the recommended limits.

The smell of coffee during the first tri made me sick, but once I was in the second and the remainder of my pregnancy I had a small coffee every day.

Yes I did, but I limited myself to no more than one a day... well 2 if we count chocolate
persimmon / 1341 posts
I really limited my soda intake during the first trimester but still had one every couple of days. Now, I'll drink one maybe every other day or so. I never gave up chocolate and never monitored how much I ate.

I swapped to decaf tea at home so I didn't have to keep track. The first tri I went off coffee. 2nd tri onwards I just did decaf latte.

I didn't drink any coffee my first trimester, but I started drinking a cup of coffee 2-3x a week throughout the rest of my pregnancy. It was hard not to. I stopped drinking it completely after I gave birth though because I was breastfeeding and I really didn't want any caffeine in the LO's system (even though they say not much gets through to the breastmilk). As a sleep deprived mama, the last thing I wanted was even a chance that the LO could be extra alert/awake for no good reason...

decaf is only half the caffeine of regular coffee. i have real coffee about 1-3x/month.

I drink a chai latte twice a week and will have 1-2 iced teas a week. I stayed away as much as could during the first trimester...I think I had 2 chais the whole trimester. but definitely had chocolate...i was always craving sweet!

I had issues with hot coffee before I even knew I was pregnant, and that has carried through the entire time. I can handle an iced coffee no problem. During the week I'll have a small iced coffee or a small iced latte, and that's about it for me with caffeine unless I'm eating chocolate, which I have not been a huge fan of pregnant.

Just chocolate. I was never really a coffee or tea drinker, and I only drank caffeinated soda with Mexican food.
persimmon / 1161 posts
@pastemoo: Where did you get that info? Everything that I have read online says that at least 97.5% of the caffeine has to be removed for coffee to be considered decaf in the US.

I just ate a triple chocolate cupcake and washed it down with a Diet Coke. So, yeah, I partake in the caffeine 3 weeks to go (hoping a few days early though!)

i didn't during my first trim but then i couldn't take it anymore :/. drank one small cup of coffee a day.
