Hellobee Boards

We don't have much either and I was wondering the same thing. We have a few little things that were gifted at shower - bath boats, 2 stuffed animals, a few sets of musical keys, a musical thing that I don't even know what it's called, sophie the giraffe and her friend, and a little pull down toy for his car seat. Also have a play mat for tummy time. I don't plan on getting anything else for awhile...I figure when he starts engaging and grabbing I'll figure out if he "needs" anything else!

olive has:

baby einstein take along tunes
plush - lamaze jacques the peacock, whoozit
sophie the giraffe
activity mat
balls - winkel/skwish/oball
the first years teething blanket

she isn't great at holding onto sophie, jacques and the whoozit. the balls, teething blanket, and baby einstein tunes are great though.

her dexterity really seemed to be behind so i recently bought two toys to help improve it. the tiny love stroller toy bar:

both toys are really awesome and i'm glad i got them.

now that she's older, i bought a used around we go (exersaucer), and we had a jumperoo from charlie. she's 6 1/2 months!

They really don't need very many at this age. They really just love human interaction more than anything. My 9-week old will only spend up to 10 minutes watching the mobile or playing on his activity mat before he starts fussing because he wants me to "play" with him. "Play" means just talking to him at this point, involving him in what I do (I wear him while I bake, or take walks. Sometimes I just sit him on my knee while I check email), moving his hands while we sing, making his feet "run" - he loves that type of stuff.

Even as he gets older though, they really just like watching what you do and interacting with you.

But, my LO got a good amount of toys as gifts.

He has a floor mat with lots of hanging toys, exersaucer, swing with mobile, wooden beads, 3 soft fabric like books, 5-10 stuffed animals, 2-3 teethers, baby phone, soft fabric blocks, activity walker, and a whole lot of board books. I think he definitely has enough toys until he's about a year old.
