i got my shot about 3 months before i conceived with my first (i was over due).... not sure what they will have me do with my 2nd

I got mine this week (32 weeks). My arm still hurts anything for this baby though!

I didn't get mine until I was in the hospital after delivery. I also got a tetanus booster. My arm was so sore not good when you are trying to take care of a newborn!

I just got mine this weekend at 34 weeks!

They forgot to give me mine for lo2 until I asked at 38 weeks.

I got one in the hospital after giving birth and won't be getting one this time.

I got the Boostrix one (mixed with tetanus and something else) last week at 31 weeks. I didn't get it with LO1.

I never thought to ask about this. I got it late in my pregnancy with LO, I assumed it would sill be good two years later. I'll have to ask at my next appt.

People who got another one, did your SOs get a new one too?

After doing some research I opted to not get my booster during my second pregnancy.

@sandy: ahh yes true, its being offered in australia now for women in third trimester. I will probably speak to my OB about it when I get there.

I got it at 36 weeks, and they said it's good for 10 years, so that will definitely cover any future pregnancies!

Yes, I will if recommended for my next pregnancy. However, I got it while pg in 2013 and still got whooping cough from my unvaccinated niece a month ago still recovering

Yes, it's recommended to get during each pregnancy. It's a new recommendation as of the last couple years. The reason to get it During Pregnancy is that it'll trigger an antibody boost in the woman, which then gets passed on to the baby and protects the baby. So, really, you're getting the shot to protect the baby even moreso than yourself. Hence the need to repeat with each pregnancy. Esp in the US with all the pertussis outbreaks, and the fact that babies can't gets their first pertussis vaccine until 6-8 weeks old.

Nope. Mine was within the last 3 years.
