I know I've read things about racism[1] in Disney movies or issues with what Disney is telling little girls is the feminine ideal[2]. I also know that a lot of people grew up watching Disney movies. Will you allow your LO to watch Disney movies?

heck yes!!! I think all that other stuff is mumbo jumbo BECAUSE if you are an intentional parent who praises who your child is, not their looks, then the movies they watch won't have a huge impact. Be a good parent and that's what matters.
I LOVE disney movies and I'm excited to watch them with my kids. They are magical and full of love and romance that evokes a feel of happiness and beauty in the world- why wouldn't you want to share that with your kids?!

I think Disney has made a lot of progress on these fronts in recent years. Hopefully they make more though, because I do think there's a lot of work left to do.
I was surprised by that article about Disney and racism though. Disney has done lots of things that are borderline or outright racist, but the article didn't seem to focus on them (in my quick scan). Wasn't sure I bought into the whole animal theory the article mentioned, but will review the article more carefully later tonight!

I grew up on Disney. I don't fall into the "Princess" trap but their movies are great! I can't wait until my daughter is old enough for them.
