we're leaning toward disney world for a few reasons.. but just curious!
if you were going on a vacation with your husband, 3 year old and 9-11 month old, which would you choose?
(Disney Land isn't an option)

How about both? Take a 3 day Disney cruise that, with a package, includes a couple days at Disney? That's what we did when we were kids and it was awesome!! We were a bit older, though.

@mediagirl: true! my parents are going on the cruise again, but we had tentatively planned a WDW trip. we'd like to meet up with them if possible (and maybe have a child free night out!) but I don't know if they are planning to stay in the parks at all.

I have a very good friend that is all about Disney and loved the Disney cruises. In fact, they're going on one soon with their 1 and 3.5 yo so we were just talking about this. They are starting with one day at the parks and will go to Magic Kingdom for as long as the kids can handle and then will go on a 3 day cruise. She really likes the cruises, especially with younger kids, b/c there's a finite number of people on the boat whereas the parks can either be super crowded or just crazy crowded. She also likes that it's easier to see the characters on the cruise and not have to wait in long lines like you might at the park. I don't see little ones being that patient. I haven't done either with small kids but thought I would give you her perspective.

We are thinking about doing both, but we will wait until our son is a little older (maybe 6).

Oohhhh that's a tough one. The only thing the cruise has going for you is that everything is in close proximity. Also, you'll have the option to send O to the free childcare which is awesome, if she likes it! The staff there is amazing. On the other hand C won't be able to go in the pool but O will, so that could get tricky. Also, I found getting on and off the boat was annoying with just one kid and all the stuff you have to drag with you! And I found the sit down dinners every night to be really frustrating, and more than not I had to take Owen up to the room before I even had my dinner because he was so unhappy/tired/just "over" it.
We haven't been to WDW with Owen so I can't vouch for that but I think it's safe to say you can't go wrong with either option. Disney does it right, for sure.

Wow! This is exactly what we're considering, except it will be with a 5-year-old and an 18-month-old. My vote is for WDW, DH's vote is for the cruise. I'd love to hear more thoughts, especially if you have been on the cruise. DH thinks the cruise is a better value.

@Pancakes: haha! we're the opposite votes here although I'm leaning WDW with my husband. we've been there several times (me wayyy more than he has) and took DD1 when she was 8 months. I just feel like she'd really enjoy the parks, shows, characters etc. and I wanna squeeze in one last trip before they have to require park tickets LOL.

For that age, I would say WDW. I'm hoping to do a cruise when kids are more in the 4-8 range.

@Pancakes: You've got to pay for the 18month old on the cruise and they won't really get anything out of it (well never been on a disney one, but you know). At least WDW you just buy the 3 tickets.

I would do the cruise because it's more convenient... taking the shuttle from the hotel to the parks, then worrying about different nap schedules, paying for meals vs. meal plan, going back to the hotel for naps vs. stroller naps, etc, etc. The cruise is everything, all rolled into one, plus you can put them in the kids clubs for some adult time!

WDW. I love the parks. Also the cruises are double the price of staying in the park.

WDW!!! We are planning our trip for 2016 right now. I am presently counting down until we can book.

Not to threadjack, but one of DH's concerns is that there won't be much for DD2 to do at 18 months old at WDW in the parks. I have never gone with small kids, but lots of people do, so there must be plenty for them to do, right?

Disney World! I went with my 3.5 year old and almost 1 year old in October. DS1 loved it and had so much fun. DS2 loved the change of scenery and was able to go on most rides with us. Both kids were so happy to be able to eat at Disney too since they do such a great job accommodating food allergies. Can't wait to go back!
