My husband is planning on going to all of the first year pediatrician appointments with BGH and me. I really appreciate this and it means a lot because I think it's important he's as involved with her life and health as I am.
Did your SO go with you to your child's first year of pediatrician appointments?

Yes! We still go together for her wellness checks but usually only one of us goes if she is sick. But sometimes the both of us go, too.

I'm hoping that DH will go if baby needs a shot of any kind. I don't want my kids to pick up on that fear of mine!

@Andrea: that's awesome! I'm so glad to hear that and I bet he will continue to go on wellness visits, as well. I know it is hard for some people to get out of work to do that but thankfully our companies are very lenient and understand doc appointments and the like.

Yep, I schedule them on his days off. I'm so thankful that he comes bc DD is VERY temperamental so I don't think I could handle both her & DS yet. Hopefully that'll get better & DH can come just because he wants to & not bc I'll lose my mind if he doesn't. Lol

He came to the first because he was on vacation - unfortunately since DH is a surgery resident he can't take time off from work unless it's a vacation. So I will mostly be taking DS unless DH happens to be off : (

He went for the first few months, and he'll go if she's really sick, but now I take her alone. He already has to take off work a lot for his own apts, he can't take off any more.

My husband has made it to all of her appointments except for one last minute appointment because she was sick. Luckily for me, he always holds her as they give her her shots because he likes to snuggle her when they are done (and because I can barely keep myself together).

Dh's never missed a wellness visit. I've taken Lo for random sick visits on my own twice.

We haven't discussed this yet, but I have a feeling he wont' be able to attend them all. He commutes for work and our pediatrician is where we live. So unless we get appointments in the late afternoon or it's an emergency then I will probably be on my own.

DH tries to make them all, but w/work and meetings sometimes he has to miss them (like this morning's!)

There's no way to tell if my husband will be off or not so I will schedule them when it's convenient for me and if he's off, he'll go. If not, just me.

I went alone this morning for DS's 18 month visit. Could have used another pair of hands to pin him down for his vax, but other than that, he gets the full report when he gets home.

Yes, we both go which I appreciate a lot. He stays with her during the shots...while I'm making the next appointment at the front desk. LO does great but I don't like to see her cry even if it's only for a second.

Yep! He has gone to all her appointments so far. He didn't miss an appointment when I was pregnant either!

He went to the early ones since he was on paternity leave. Now we just come up with a list of questions before the visit and I report back since he has pretty erratic days off.

Dont know yet, but i have a feeling DH will be there for all the milestone checkup visits. He's been to every single prenatal appt with me!
So I have a feeling he'll want to go to all the pediactic appts once LO is here!
