Yes we have stockings, my husband fills mine and i fill his. Nothing elaborate goes in them, we usually spend around $40 to fill them.

Yes, we have stockings. I fill DH's and he fills mine. Last year I put some socks, mittens, and Reese's trees in his. He put a scarf, some nail polish, and some lip balm in mine.

Yep we have them - will fill them with socks, t-shirts, candy, etc - nothing fancy

Yes, but we only put gifts in them last year when my grandma who loves Christmas stayed with us. She would not have been happy if hers was the only one filled (she brought hers with her). Mostly they are for decoration.

Yes! We all had them in my family growing up. My mother still stuffs everyone's stockings at Chrustmas but usually DH and I add something to all the stockings too.

Sounds like we're pretty much the same as everyone else here - we have stockings for each other, but I put more time and effort into filling his with personal things (specific things I know he likes / wants). Nothing fancy, but I do put a lot of thought into it. He felt bad and asked me to create an amazon wishlist with stocking stuffer ideas for myself and our kids so he can have a better idea of what to put in them. Growing up theirs had strictly candy, so the idea of small gifts is very new to him.

We have them but never put anything in them. We probably won't this year either. Will wait till next year when R understands Christmas more. This year we are going to do a couple things for her and that is all.

Yes! We both have one and so does our dog We fill the other persons stocking with candy and little trinkets. And we both buy stocking stuffers for the dog.

@adria my parents did not do the Santa thing with us, but we did have stockings and each had small gifts in them (including my parents). I'll have to ask them about it, we spent our younger years in Germany where it's more about St Nick and the spirit of Christmas. I loved going stocking shopping with my Mom to pick out goodies for the family, those are some of my earliest memories.. Mostly high quality chocolate and little items. Some years we still do them.

Now I fill my own stocking. I put Burt's bees in ours & some things like deodorant. Basically stuff we need & satisfies Chloe's "was your stocking full?!" question.

We didn't growing up so we don't have any now either! I wanted to get some last Christmas but we don't have a fire-place and I couldn't figure out the best way to hang them.

@Adira: Haha I basically told him what I needed, he didn't think of that stuff on his own. This year we only did stockings for one another. Ours have our first names on them, not Mom/Dad.

Side note: I remember my first Christmas with M's family and I had to call my Mom because I was shocked that my stocking was filled with mini liquor bottles and scratch offs. Every family does it their own way. I'm sure she had a chuckle over that one.

@Adira: We all have one. I think 2 red and one white. I just bought some last year from Target. Never got them monogrammed cause we decided to wait on really nice ones till we are done with kids (or know R is it). When we do get some monogrammed I will use Mom and Dad.

We have three and will add the fourth this year (or replace all of them). Last year we didn't fill ours, just for C. Ours are velvet from Target with just a first initial monogram. DH is navy with silver (cowboys fan), mine is emerald with gold (packers fan), C is ruby with silver (Alabama is our neutral football team). Actually it was really just luck, but it's fun to think about them this way.
