If I'm home alone and I can get away with not answering it, I won't. I get scared!

Our doorbell only works sporadically, but the dogs always let us know if someone's there.
If I'm home alone I usually don't answer the door because I can't wrangle the dogs and answer the door at the same time.

When we move into our house I probably won't if home alone, only because my parents got robbed a few months ago. Their plan is to go to the door and act like a salesman, or that their car is broke down and they need help and they either a. rob you b. look around your home (from what they can see from the door) to get an idea of what they want for next time. No thanks!

Nope, especially if I'm home alone. My loud dog is usually enough to deter people from sticking around anyway.

I'm scared too, I never answer it.

If I'm not expecting anyone, I'll try to look out a window to see who is at the front door. I don't like solicitors.

We don't have a doorbell at our new place. All of our visitors have to go through the concierge first so I always know who's coming up to our floor.

I look through the peephole and see who it is before opening the door, but I never pick up our house phone. We have to have a landline for our alarm but I don't even know what the number is so I know that no one calling it actually wants me. The last time I picked it up it was a crazy lady who wanted me to tell her husband that she didn't have an affair with a man named Sam. I haven't made that mistake again!

I answer the door after yelling for people to identify themself.

I do but I always check who it is first, mostly so I know how to address the person. I am not a scared person when it comes to strangers though. I can handle myself and am tougher than I look should it need to come to that.

We don't have a doorbell! If I don't know who is at the door, or I'm not expecting anyone I don't answer. I don't even care if I know they can hear my LO screaming haha.

I don't unless I'm expecting a package, especially because the stupid peephole on our front door is too high for me to look through.

Um never. DH sent me flowers on valentine's day and I was home all day but didn't answer the door BOTH times they tried to deliver them. I felt bad...

When we had our main living area painted last February (as in over a year ago) DH unhooked the doorbell and never hooked it back up. It's been awesome for keeping sleeping babies sleeping!

we have so many packages delivered that I have to answer it! otherwise, it just gets sent back and then re-delivered

I never answer the door unless I know who it is.

Never, unless I am expecting someone. Often it's the neighbours for some reason and I just tell them later that I couldn't hear it (we don't have a bell so people have to knock).

I always answer it. It's almost always a package! If it's someone selling something, i shut the door asap. I also have a latch on the door so i can only partially open it.

Depends, I usually sneak into our bedroom and peak out the window to see who it is before answering, if it's a kid selling somethign I answer, if it's an adult/male I usually don't!

I sometimes get freaked out that it is going to be an angry tenant or something, but I do usually open it because I know my husband would get mad if someone was trying to deliver rent or something and I purposely ignored it.

It depends on what I'm wearing. My neighbor sometimes stops by, so I at least check and see who it is.

I look through the kitchen window to see if I know who it is. If I don't, then no, unless it's FedEx/UPS.
If I'm home alone I usually don't answer the door because I can't wrangle the dogs and answer the door at the same time.
