DH and I have food poisoning and we left J with my mom today nod are going to ask my dad if he can come over after work. The way we feel right now there's no way we could take good care of him. Do you ask for help?

I got sick with a bad stomach bug this past winter and the mom and I didn't have anyone else. The mom felt awful, especially since she HAD to work late that day. We had a friend relieve me at the very end of the day for around an hour, but other than it was just me. We survived

Yup. Had the worst day with morning sickness last week (on a day MIL usually watches DD for a few hours) and I asked her to come back after her haircut. I was miserable. She is so great though. Took DD out to the park and even picked up dinner

Yes, if I have a bad migraine. Usually my mom, but if she can't either my dad or inlaws. I wouldn't survive without help.

If it's really bad, yes.
I had migraines super badly post-partum, but thankfully didn't have them while ever alone with J. If I had, I would have called my mom.
Another time I had the stomach flu and asked my brother to come over and help - and he did
food poisoning sucks! I would ask for help too!

No, my MIL lives nearby but I would never ask because she would talk crap about me. I would if my mom was nearby.

Sadly, no. I feel bad asking for help. BUT then I feel like people (my mom, DH's mom...) should offer to help and I get bitter when they don't offer and it's obvious (to me) that I need help. Completely irrational, I know. Mommy martyr symptom right there.

I so wish I could!! But I live 4 hours from my mama and 7 from MIL. If things get bad, we have to ask friends.
I have missed my mama a LOT during this m/s!!

i probably would if I was puking my guts out but I havent with a cold/flu yet. Although it is really difficult. I am glad you are getting some help!
