I believe in soul mates. I think God creates our perfect match and then puts us in each other's paths.

No, I don't believe in soul mates.

@Arden: @Weagle: I believe exactly the same thing as you do--there are too many people in this world to just have one person be IT. DH feels the same way.

@Leialou: I'm a Christian too, but I still don't believe in soul mates. Interestingly enough one of our pastors said the same thing in his message last Sunday.

I dated and knew a few guys that I honestly believe I could have ended up with and been very happy with. I think there are several guys I could be very happy with who share the same values. I definitely love my husband and I know he is the most perfect for me that I can imagine! We have talked about it though, and if either were to die we'd wish the other to get married if that would make either of us happy... And we both feel we could potentially find someone who we are compatible with.

Obviously at this time I could never imagine loving anyone as much as I love my husband, but many widows remarry and love greatly as do divorcees.

Nope. I believe there are many I could have probably ended up with based on timing and crossing paths. But it was my choice to commit myself to my husband and stop looking.

I don't believe in soul mates, i.e. that there is a perfect match for everyone. Actually I don't really believe that everyone has a match at all! That's kind of mean to say though, so I rarely say it out loud...

I think you can have more than one soul mate...

I dont think there is just one perfect person for everyone. But I like the concept of a soul mate so I guess I agree with @autumnlove: that each person can have more than one soul mate

I don’t believe in soul mates in the sense that there is 1 person out there that God/Goddess/higher figure picked for you. I think there are multiple people who make better partners to other people because some people just “fit” better together than others do. I think we make choices in our lives which put us in contact with a variety of people, and out of those people we select the one or ones we want to put in the effort of building a relationship with.

I do believe in soul mates, and I know that I have mine. I can't see anyone else in the world having the same qualities as DH nor can I see anyone being so compatible with me.

I don't think that there is only one person that is right for another, but I do believe that there is one person who is most suited to another. If DH or I had married someone else, would we have felt like we were missing out on something? Probably not. We would have likely been happy and had good lives. But, I think that we are specially suited and matched in our personalities, life desires, and the plans God has for us. I felt and continue to feel quite confident, after much prayer on the subject, that he was the right man for me. Plus, I really like his eye crinkles.
