I almost never drink in front of my mom, because she's not a fan of alcohol (plus it's pretty hot where they live so I have no desire to drink anything besides ice water). When I'm visiting my in-laws, I'll have some wine after the kids are down. Took me a while to feel comfortable enough to do that, but they don't seem to mind at all.
Do you drink in front of your parents and/or in-laws?

Absolutely. My MIL feeds me wine like it's my last day on Earth, and my family is European so drinking is just part of what we do.

Yes and yes? My in-laws don't really drink but don't care if we do. FIL will if we are but MIl doesn't. It's almost a given with my family!

Ha! It would be weird to not drink in front of my parents. I grew up with my parents having 1-2 beers with dinner a night.
IL's drink too so they always wine and beer in the fridge if we want it.

Both our families drink wine with dinner on a regular basis so it's expected. They're the type to think you're pregnant if you don't have a glass!

Definitely! I mean, I try not to get drunk in front of them but I definitely drink. We don't have any teetotalers in my family!!

Yep. Both drink, especially at get-togethers. They provide us with plenty of alcohol!

Yes, in front of both. But my Mom always tries to get us to drink during the day and I have no interest in it! Chasing a toddler around after a glass of wine - knowing there are 6 more hours until bedtime is no fun!

Yea, not weird at all.
My mom actually let me drink in high school and underage, just as long as it was at home. She figured if I was going to do it, better that it be at home. My mom will have a drink with my friends sometimes too. She's super open-minded and nonchalant about stuff like this. I think I'm more conservative than she is!

Neither of our parents are drinkers and neither am I, but Dh does and I will too for holidays and such. Fil will have dessert wine every once in a while. My dad will have a glass of wine or a beer maybe once a year in celebration of something.

Yes. With my parents it has never been a big deal. They had wine infront of me during holidays and such, so my having some wine infront of them doesn't bother me or them.
DH says that the ILs never drank infront of him until recently, now his whole family drinks at every get together! We drink at these gatherings too lol.

Oh yes. My family is Russian and DH's family is Italian so drinking is a big part of both cultures.

Definitely. When we get together with my family, the booze is generally free-flowing; we would stand out if we didn't partake! This will be my biggest issue when I'm pregnant but not ready to announce. With the in-laws, we will have a couple of beers or glasses of wine, and that's about it.

If it's just my mother, then no. She doesn't drink at all. My ILs make the drinks for me, so definitely yes.

Yes and yes. My ILs drink even more than we do, so I never feel weird about it! I do feel a little awkward drinking in front of my dad sometimes because he doesn't drink at all. But my mom does, so I get over it and join her

yes to both, my dad offers a beer as soon as you walk into the house, and DH's family are big social drinkers HIs family automatically suspect pregnancy if you don't have at least SOMETHING.

I don't really drink alcohol, I'm more of a pop person! But at my parent's home they have a bar and most of my relatives are social drinkers, so if I wanted to no one would bat an eye.
My ILs don't even have alcohol at their house, so yeah...they can be pretty judgy. I know MIL doesn't approve of my caffeine intake (and hello, I have 2 under 2, I NEED caffeine!), so when we go over there she will either not have any pop or have random weird off-brand stuff with no caffeine. It does kind of bother me because when we're hosting them I'm sure to go out and buy the types of drinks I know they prefer even though it's not what I would normally choose.

No. There wasn't much drinking from the women in my family when I was growing up so I never witnessed them drinking. Now that I'm older, I think everyone drinks except my mom and grandmother, so I just don't drink around them out of this old respect rule I made up in my head. It's so strange seeing my aunts drinking with my cousins and my sister now.

We do. But both my parents and FIL are open about drinking, and wine/beer/etc are always there at get togethers and parties and holidays. If they were against it, I probably wouldn't drink in front of them.

Not much in front of either. It's just that no one in either family drinks much, so I would be drinking alone which is weird. I don't feel particularly judged if there were a party and alcohol was served, but at home it would be weird.

Yup! My parents took each of us to Vegas for our 21st. They keep the booze a-flowin' at holidays and parties.
I've had drinks in front of my ILs but not on May occasions!

Oh yes, the booze is a flowin in both households. Sometimes a little too much (Dad). It's always been that way. My Mom rarely drinks, she will occassionally have a glass of bubbles. MIL does not drink much but her husband does.
We drink wine mostly at home. Beer in the summer. Liquor for specialty cocktails or special occasions. I miss alcohol.
