Yes. With my parents, it's normal. You walk in the door and they offer you a beer.
With his parents it took me some time to warm up to it but then I realized I needed to drink when I was around them just to survive.
^^Kidding. Sort of.

I drink with my mother a lot, so no question there.
His mom doesn't drink for religious reasons. But it hasn't stopped anyone from drinking around her.
But I can understand the hesitation. My mom and her siblings would actually hide alcohol if their mother came over unannounced when they were adults. We used to get together at my grandmother's for a girls night before Christmas and would wait for grandma to go to bed before we started drinking (and hid the empty bottles in someone's car so she wouldn't see them in the trash)
We knew that was ridiculous but we did it anyway

Absolutely. Everyone in our immediate families have healthy relationships with alcohol, so no one has any "hidden" drinking.
My parents, us and my in-laws always offer a drink to guests - that can be whatever you want it to be; water, tea, coffee, wine, cocktail, etc.

My inlaws drive me to drink once I get home.
But no, my MIL is against drinking in any form. She's been heard to say, "Alcohol is more addictive than cocaine. Anyone who drinks in any amount is secretly an alcoholic."
She's a chain smoker, by the way.

Nope, I don't. But then again, I don't drink at all really. I probably have had two glasses of wine this entire year. I like to eat my calories, rather than drink them, lol.

No...my mom doesn't think I should drink since I have 3 kids to take care of (haha). Oh well. My in-laws are recovering alcoholics so I've never drank around them except at my wedding...

Yes, my parents make sure to have the *official* family bourbon on hand any time the kids are coming. I don't drink much around my ILs, but it has more to do with the quality and availability of alcoholic beverages that I like where they live.

Yes and yes. Nothing weird about either!
My MIL (before she was my MIL) actually bought me craft beer as a gift once when I was 20...she just said she thought I'd really like it and was responsible enough to enjoy it. Ha.

I don't drink, but my husband does drink in front of our family. Absolutely. I was not raised with healthy examples of drinking, so I'm eager to raise my daughter differently. For us, that means a drink or two with dinner, and a little more on a special occasion.

I do, which is odd considering up until I was an adult I never saw my parents drink - at all! Now it's not unusual for them to have a drink when we go out to eat or when they're at our house. I also have no problems drinking in front of my in-laws...but I never drink very much at a time, anyways, so it's nothing more than a glass of wine or two.

I do, but I don't drink much in general so no one ever sees me have more than one drink. My FIL loves his adult beverages and is always shocked when I don't want what he's offering lol.
