When you go out as family...do you drive drive, ride shotgun or sit in the back with your LO? Right now my DD is 2 months old so I always sit in the back with her!

My husband drives because I don't so I ride shotgun. When our baby arrives I plan to sit in the back with her.

i drive. now that we have two kids, mr. bee rides shotgun. when we had 1 kid, he sat in the back with charlie!

I usually sit shotgun. Sometimes I'll drive. I sit in the back with LO rarely.

I can't sit in the back of a vehicle EVER because it makes me so sick, so sitting in the back isn't an option for me. DH and I will probably take turns driving, though we both prefer it when he drives.

Yup, I sit in the back, it's more out of habit than anything else. He's also rearfacing behind the passenger seat, so if I have to reach back, it's pretty dicey.

@cupcakemama: yes can someone explain sitting in the back with LO to me as well? We have never done that either.

I used to sit in the back because the dog got shotgun so he wouldn't constantly lick the baby. But I started getting car sick back there and we got a mini van so I'm shotgun, lo is in the middle, and the dog has the back seat to himself.

@Andrea: I sit in the back because LO's car seat is in the back on the passenger side. Her car seat is just so big that the passenger seat has to get pushed up and it's too close to the glove compartment and is considered unsafe in case of a car accident.

@Andrea: But SOMETIMES, I'll push the passenger seat as far back as it can go and sit up front with hubs. I miss sitting in the front!

@Rubies: ah ha...that must be it. in both our cars the seat fits in the middle so we always sit up front.

usually my hubby drives us everywhere. but i'll drive every so often. when the babies come, there's no way we're sitting in the back (since car seats will be behind passenger and driver)... but even if we only had 1 baby, i wouldn't want to sit in the back.

@Andrea: Same as @rubies! We prefer taking our Civic these days but the front passenger seat is really cramped with the Chicco base and seat behind it. For longer trips, we take our SUV and I sit in the front!

DH and I both drive... depends on the outing; whose car we take.. etc.
DH probably drives more than I do, because he always drives his car and drives mine too sometimes.
I get carsick really easily, so I always sit shotgun when I can.
I'm not sure how I'll handle it with future LOs :T

@Andrea: nope, there is no "latch" system in the middle seat...only behind the driver and passenger seat.

@AmeliaBedelia: Ooh... that's a good point that I didn't even think of. I had pictured sitting in the back seat w/ baby once she's born, but I get really nauseous too if I'm not in the front looking out the window. Maybe I'll need to drive and DH can sit in the back and entertain baby.

We both always either drive or ride shotgun, it just depends on who is driving that day. We never sit in the back with LO.

I sit in the back with LO. I get carsick too so I'm always having to look out the window. Other than that, I love watching him play or sleep!

I used to sit in the back with LO but now I usually ride shot gun if it's a short ride, but for longer rides I like to keep her company back there

I hate the back of the car. We usually split driving depending on who's car we're taking.

DH isn't able to drive so I will forever be the driver for us lol
