We started using the garage this month, but everyone else uses the front door.

Usually through the garage - its easier than unlocking four locks at the front door (we have a security door with locking handle + deadbolt, plus the regular door with locking handle + deadbolt).

we come in the backdoor to our apartment. that's where most of our everyday shoes are kept.

Always the garage. We almost never enter through the front since its on the complete opposite side of the house from where we park. Visitors normally come in through the front though.

We use the front door because we don't park in the garage (it would require us to open the gate everytime because of the dog).

I come in through the garage, but DH comes in the front door after work. We just have our shoes by the front entry, it doesn't bother me. But we can't have anything real there, like a bench to put our shoes in because when we leave the house the dog will eat it if it's near the door.

Front door. The door coming in from the garage is right near the front door, so it wouldn't make much of a difference!
