It's not terribly late now since we're on the west coast but everyone's asleep. I'm stirring onions right now to make curry. Sometimes I like to cook at nights so I don't have to do it during the day. Some dishes taste better the next day anyway. I'm usually up late so I might as well do something productive.

@BoogieBea: That is actually a smart idea. Curry especially tastes great the next day.
I rely on my slow cooker a lot in the colder months. I really enjoy my downtime in the evenings, but it might be nice to get some cooking out of the way some nights. Maybe when I'm actually pregnant and trying to get some meals in the freezer....

Yeah, I often do. Lately I've been preparing L's meals at night. I should actually get off the computer and work on that right now...

I did this weekend and it was awesome. I fell asleep after putting Olive down, and woke up at 1am. So I made a ton of food for our Hurricane Sandy lockdown. It was glorious! The best time to cook is when everyone is sleeping. Unfortunately I'm usually too tired during the week to do that.

I do a lot of cooking late at night. I don't think it's optimal but it's the only free time I have. Sometimes my body is aching by the time I get into bed from standing so long! I need a better system!

I would make all of LO's purees late at night because it was the only time I could do it.

I only cook at night if we are having a party or larger get together the next day.

Interesting idea! Although then do you wait for the food to cool down before putting it in the fridge? That could take a while...
