Sometimes I feel guilty when I start a thread and then respond to one comment, but not to others. I usually try to go back and respond to other comments afterward...
Clearly I'm overthinking this... does anyone else do this sort of thing?

Yes. Usually it's because i have a follow up question or the comment was more relative to my question? I sometimes feel like i should just say thanks to acknowledge the commenter.
Now, are you going to respond to my comment?
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
haha! I feel this way often. especially on the photo threads..I feel bad if I only reply to some!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
No, I never really thought about it? I don't want to comment for the sake of commenting! ha
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@Freckles: Haha sure! I just realized that I usually respond if someone asks a followup question, or to thank them for posting something helpful...
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@sorrycharlie: Haha, we must have had a similar guilt-soaked upbringing!

I feel guilty! I try to respond to as many as I can, but sometimes I will do just a general "thank you everyone!" because it's hard to keep up sometimes, I do read everything though! I will reply if I'm curious about something they said, or I want more info etc.
coconut / 8854 posts
Kind of! I normally try and make a blanket statement if a lot of the comments are similar.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Definitely. If I start a thread I try to respond to everyone who gives me helpful responses!
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@mrbee: i dont, but I expect you to reply to my reply. Like sending someone a thank you for sending you a thank you.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@Mrs. Polish: Well since it's your Hellobee anniversary, how could I not reply!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I do if they are talking to me about something or asking/answering a question I had! I don't care as much if it's just collecting opinions or a thread for fun.
pear / 1879 posts
I do sometimes. Especially when someone responds to my thread and it takes me forever to write back. I feel a little like I asked for advice and then took the responses and ran! I like to try and acknowledge those who took the time to write
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
I try to respond to everyone if I'm responding to one. I probably do this because it really bugs me when I see someone responding to other people and they "ignored" my comment.
Sensitive Sally over here.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
I do sometimes. If there's questions, etc. I try to answer. If it's comments that I don't always respond.
If it's topics I've created asking for advice, I try to respond as much as I can!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
I feel this way on blog posts, so I try my best to acknowledge every comment! Sometimes there really is nothing to say back though, especially if the comment is a one-liner, but in those cases I try to at least say, "thank you"... haha I'm an equal opportunist.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mediagirl: haha sometimes I get a little Sally over here too!
pomegranate / 3383 posts
I don't ever start threads...so nope!
I do feel like crap when I've posted in someone's thread and they don't even acknowledge my post even though they've responded to everyone else. I try and put a lot of thought into my posts. I always make a mental note when this happens...
coconut / 8681 posts
I always feel guilty but usually I don't have time to respond to them all so I respond if I have a further question or if a response really resonates with me.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
Ha, I do too. Was actually just thinking this earlier! There are the replies that I reply to because they asked a question, or I had a question or comment for them, and then I feel awkward just ignoring other responses because I really do appreciate that they took the time to reply to my post. And then I feel like I'm responding too much
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Sammyfab: Note to self: always respond to Sammyfab's comments....
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
Yup, I feel bad but it's because I usually don't have time read all the responses and reply to everyone. I wish there were more hours in my day.
I do, also, start threads but never respond to responders. I'm guilty of 'post and run.' I'm sorry, I wish I had more time to devote my time to HB. I need a HB assistant.
Gives me run down on threads and responds to threads for me. LOL!

@theotherstark: haha...I'm hoping I didn't make myself look like an axe murderer there! I promise I'm not!
pomelo / 5607 posts
Yes, I feel super guilty! I try to always say something like "thanks for all the responses," then reply directly to the ones that I have a response or question for. But I feel terrible.
grapefruit / 4213 posts
Yes! I feel bad. It's hard to @ reply to more than one person at a time from my phone.
honeydew / 7295 posts
Yes. Especially when there are several on another page and I can't deal with going back to find them and hit reply. I always feel bad because I wouldn't want anyone to think I don't care about their input
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@MapleMoose: @MrsMccarthy: Haha you're right, it's my fault sometimes! One of these days we'll make it easier to reply to posts on multi-page threads!!

@mrbee: It's not like you're super busy or anything.... (kidding!!)
It will be a great feature when it comes out.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@MapleMoose: our programmer has been really busy lately, so I've been mostly reorganizing the board forums.
But please do remind me about the feature here!

@mrbee: Didn't know about that page. I'll have to bump it up soon to keep it on the horizon. Thanks!
persimmon / 1328 posts
Yes! It can be time consuming to get to all the replies, and sometimes I have nothing to say other than thanks for commenting. If I reply, I really try to make it unique to the person's comment.
grapefruit / 4997 posts
I feel that some posters or bloggers are better at replying about the questions or comments but it's just too time consuming to reply to everyone individually. So no hard feelings from me.

OMG, I always feel guilty. Don't hate me or feel left out. I love you all.
