If they are an adult, heck no! With kids...yes.

I don't know if I'm mean, or if it's the teacher in me, but I won't even let a kid win--at least not all the time. My husband does this with my neices and nephews, but I think it does them a disservice because they won't get better! I'll let our neices and nephews win occasionally, but only about 40% of the time. Especially because most games their level (chutes and ladders, uno, etc) are really random and not skill-based. It's good for them to lose sometimes (in my opinion).

My own dad and I used to play tennis all the time growing up, and he would always beat me, until one day when I was in HS and I *finally* beat him, and it meant so much to me, because I knew I'd really won.

ok, maybe. Haha. But actually pretty much NEVER. He does things to spice the game up, make it fun for others, and then ends up losing. Unless we're playing poker for fun (no buy-in)... then he always wins. If we're playing for money with people, he goes all-in on the first hand and always loses.

Never, I'm known for my bad winning...I'm the annoying girl that really likes to rub it in the faces of those playing with me when I win. My husband hates playing games with me because he always loses hahaha (so bad I know!)

With adults, we get even MORE competitive if it's family and not friends. With kids, I'll let 'em win more often than not but not every single time.

@mrbee: Yup. I can't deny it. We have a new version of monopoly with electronic money distributed through a little 'bank' machine onto visa cards, and I overpay myself at Go, and under charge myself for properties. DH caught on and now he is wise to my ways!! lol!!

@mrbee: The funny thing is he's usually just as bad, the game for us has almost become who can pull off what.
