Someone mentioned that they forbid their SO from chewing gum in the house... that got me wondering.
Do you forbid your SO from doing certain things in the house?

He's not supposed to go to bed with pants he's worn to work! He's also not allowed to wash LO's clothes after he turned all her new white clothes blue.

If I were to forbid him anything it would end badly for me. Very badly.

Laundry - if he's anything like his mother he'll use super hot on everything and shrink it all 3 sizes (I used to buy him XL or XXL shirts and she would shrink them to M)
That and wearing shoes past the front door

@mrbee: ahhhahaha.. that was me! I was being playful. I would never "forbid" him, but if he knows what's good for him, he'll keep the gum outside!

@photojane: Didn't mean it in a bad way... was just looking for thread inspiration, and saw your comment!

Smoke, or let friends smoke. He isn't a smoker but likes a cigar at certain events (like when they have them at a wedding) and I won't get close to him if he smells like cigar.
That's about it.

Smoke his cigars in the "man cave". He MUST go outside to smoke & has to take a shower & was his clothes right after he comes inside. Oh and no kisses till he has brushed and used lots of mouth wash....yuck

No farting in the house/around me. He slips pretty often but it's never on purpose

Well no, but I have made horrified faces/comments and so on, so he knows that I don't approve. Like drinking soup out of a bowl, for example.

Haha no, I wish I could tell him not to fart by me but he still does.

@MrsH: @CarrieLouWho: I'm jealous!! If I tried to impose a rule like this..... Lets just say it wouldn't be pretty for me!

@MrsRoo: He tells me all the time how lucky I am, especially when I fuss at him when he slips up. But to be honest, my dad and brother never farted around me or my mom growing up, so it's all I know.

Yes, I forbid him from smoking in the house. Raining? Sorry buddy still gotta go outside!

I have a rule that no "outside clothes" are allowed in the bed. I like to keep the bed a clean sanctuary, which is why I always shower before bed. He'd try and lay in bed in jeans or whatever clothes he wore out and about that day and it horrified me. Now he knows better.

I haven't "forbid" him but he knows I don't like him starting laundry. I also try really hard to not allow shoes in the house, he doesn't abide by that rule, maybe I should make him start mopping?

Cooking. He forgets about food, it burns and he throws it out. So wasteful! I given him years of chances to improve.

Nope! And if anything: I am the bad one & I probably need to him to forbid me from half of my habits
Although! If he burps, I immediately go, "ew!" And he says, "excuse me".

@MrsRoo: sometimes he threatens but he will get out of bed if he really has to

I think I would get the evil glare if I ever said the word "forbid" to him! However, I don't allow him to come home from work and immediately lay down on the couch (he had a bad habit of this.) I make him entertain LO while I get dinner going or a chore that needs to be done. Otherwise I end up doing everything and am exhausted.
