When you're home alone over night with your LO?
I don't know what my deal is, but I have a super overactive imagination and I hate being without DH over night.
I have to sleep 3 nights without him and I'm really not looking forward to it. 
Help! I'm a 31 year old child raising a baby!

I don't have a LO but my husband works nights half the time and I usually get scared right before bed. I feel like a little kid worried about monsters under the bed!

I don't have a LO yet but on the rare occasion that I have to sleep alone, I do get scared right before I go to sleep and have to turn out all the lights! I feel silly about it but get over it.

Hehe. I always get scared. I even get scared when Rob Sr. goes out for an errand and he's not back within 10 mins. I start imagining all kinds of weird things and what I would do (the answer is usually go to my parents' house in Philly). Haha.
This is why I'm glad I have two small barky dogs! It's annoying when they bark when someone comes in the house, but I know for sure that if they're not barking, no one is around. Plus one of my dogs sounds like a big scary dog. So figure if someone approaches our house and hears him barking, they'd probably move on to a different house.

Glad I'm not the only one! I always get scared right before the lights go off too. Sometimes I even keep the lights in the living room on over night.

No, maybe because I lived alone before we got together. I do leave lights on at night though. We have an alarm, but it's nice to have lights in case it may deter someone.

I sleep alone about a third of the month, but I'm not afraid because I always turn our alarm in. Plus, I sleep with a knife and bat in our room.

as long as my curtains are closed, I am good. if the curtains are open & it's all black outside, though {we have a huge field behind our house}, then I start to freak myself out.

Yes!! But our LO hasn't arrived yet. When my husband works nights or is on call, I HAVE to put the little bar in our slider doors. I don't get scared while I am awake, it's when I go to bed. We live in Boston in a very occupied area so not sure why I get so freaked!

@winniebee: I'm fine during the day up until it's sleep time too. HAHA. I freaked myself out so badly when he was gone while I was pregnant that I started bleeding/spotting from lack of sleep and stress.

@chopsuey119: Oh my gosh! That's terrible!!! One night a few weeks ago when I was on trial and super stressed (and my husband was working overnight), I was CONVINCED I heard someone rapping on our slider doors. I woke up 3 times in the middle of the night because of this and even called my husband at work. He indulged me and told me I should call the police. It was probably the wind....

I am totally scared. I've never lived along (lived at home until I got married), so I'm used to always having someone there with me. He doesn't go away very often (maybe 1-2x/year) but I'm always having the dog sleep on our bed to comfort me. LOL.

I lived alone for a few years before moving in with DH, so I actually like to have my alone time at home when he travels for work! I get about a week a month to myself, and it is awesome!

I used to be sooooo scared of being alone. But with DH's new job situation I have to live with out him for the week days every week so I have learned to deal with it.

Terrified. All sorts of bad things float through my mind. I make sure that I have the dogs and baby in the room with me. So, I totally understand. Luckily DH doesn't usually go away.

No LO yet, but I do get super scared when I'm alone at night. Once, DH went to band practice and I got so scared that I had to call security to come up and search my 1 bedroom apartment. And band practice is only for a couple of hours! I hate to say it, but when he's gone I usually have to take a sleeping pill in order to get any sleep I get so scared!

I dont have a LO but I get a little scared when I am staying at our house without DH. Back in June he was out of town for a week and I hated it!

No not really. I do some stuff differently when he's gone but our neighborhood is safe.

I never have to be home alone at night because my mom stays with me if dh is gone. It's easier to have help because I have to take care of the dog and baby. But before the baby I'd stay alone,and I was always ok because we have a pretty big dog. He'd just lick an intruder and love up on them...but I feel like his bark would scare them away before that could happen.
