As some of my Instagram friends may have seen yesterday, my gas oven caught fire after some oil dripped out of one of my pans of food that were cooking. As the flames were coming out I realized that since moving in, I had put off buying a fire extinguisher. Not one of our neighbours had one either! Thankfully we were able to smother the fire with a giant box of baking soda as the fire department showed up.

Very thankful for my alarm system which automatically called the fire department for me and thankful to them for working on Christmas.

We are going to buy a fire extinguisher today!
