I would really like to make an office space in our house. Do you have one? Our filing cabinet is sitting in a closet, and there's no where to sit down and handle household things.

We used to have a full room for an office. Then we had a baby and now it's the nursery! But there is a desk that's built in in our kitchen that we now use as out "office" space. It does the job.

We currently do but plan on getting rid of it for another nursery.

We have an office downstairs. DH sits on the couch and works instead though... so it's kind of a wasted space.

Yes. We have a loft area upstairs that we use as our office. It also has all my craft stuff and a bunch of junk...

Yes, but its really small and not organized very well right now. We rarely use it unless we need to use the actual computer for something. Also, the door to the garage is in that room so its kind of a hallway of sorts (its a den, the house is just set up weird).

Not anymore. Now it's the nursery. I wish we still had a dedicated space for that stuff.

we do. it's in the basement and doubles as DH's Beat Lab (Stepbrothers reference-his drums are in there.)

We turned the smallest bedroom into an office! It is really nice to have an area that you can sit and work (especially since I do work from home at least once/week).

We have one. It's one of my favorite rooms in the house because of the built-in shelves.

Yes, we have an office/craft room. We still need to set it up. Right now it is the only room with boxes still.

Yup! I have an extra room at our house (not a bedroom, has no closer) that I use as my office. Currently also doubles as a guest room and all things me storage space (crafts, memorabilia, collections, etc).

Yup. I love having a home for all computer stuff and a place to pay bills and do craft projects. I hate having that kind of stuff on the dining room table.

It was one of our upstairs rooms, but that is now the nursery.
Our office is currently in a temporary solution type space in the basement. We need a bigger house. ugh.

We have 4 bedrooms - master, nursery, DH's music room, and guest room/office. I hardly ever use it as an office space though, I end up just sitting at the dining table or on the couhc. When we have another LO though I think I will build in an office space into a huge hall closet we have.

yes. we have part of our living room separated with a bookshelf, and that's the office. we have a desk that fits in the corner, shelving, our file cabinet, and big monitor and printer there. i WFH so i need it, even though i end up working from the couch most of the time.

we turned one of our spare bedrooms into an office, but now it's being turned into the nursery.

It's part of a room. I work at home at night/on the weekends and need some sort of designated space.
pomelo / 5469 posts
We both work from home, so one of our bedrooms is always a designated office.

Yep, but it's because I work from home! So I have to. Otherwise my husband/dogs would overrun me!!!

Yes, it is part of our first floor playroom. We have a raised ranch style home.

Yes, it's nice because DH can hang out in there while I watch awful television in the living room.

I WAH and my office is in our guest room/playroom. It's more my office than playroom though.

dh and I both work at home so we actually have 2! In our teeny nyc apt--they're "bedrooms" that would barely fit a twin size bed. I'll end up losing mine though when we have a baby since we'll turn it into the nursery

Yes, I turned one of the spare bedrooms into my home office. It's the only room in the house that has pictures up. It's my little haven.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
We have an office corner-- desk, computer, chair, but that's about it. It's in the same corner of the living room that will house the baby's stuff-- the play mat, toys, etc, and the rocker. DH used it for studying, and i use it when I'm working from home, otherwise I'm on my laptop on the couch.

Yes, it used to be my "woman cave" but at the moment it's just storing random crap and baby stuff.
eggplant / 11824 posts
Yes! I have an office/craft room and DH has an office in our master bedroom (the bedroom is *huge*, like the size of 2 rooms, so it isn't cramped at all to have an office in there).
