Well, do you??
DH and I have a bit. It's mostly from dhs undergrad days and random things he never remembers to pay down. We just transferred it to my card at 0% and are on track to pay it off in a year.

We just finished up a radical plan to pay off our extensive CC debt from both of our college days and the 2 years I was unemployed and had Wagon Jr. So right now we do have balances but we pay them off each month. We have 4 CCs, use 2 and pay them off each month, and the other 2 get charged for our netflix and spotify accounts and get paid off each month (to keep them active).

Yes But we should have it paid off by this time next year. That will be a glorious, glorious day!!!

yes - ugh!
I never did until DD started DCP about 1.5 yrs ago and then it slowly crept up on me - its not much - about 4K but I am having a heck of a time paying it off!!
@mrs. wagon: what plan did you use?

Nope, not any more. I paid down all of my CC debt before I bought my house in 2010. DH never had any, and we pay off everything each month.

Yes, not much but I don't like having any. We're planning on paying it off within the next month or two.

We pay off our credit cards in full every month. So I guess we technically do.

Yep, but not much, and 75% of it is on a 0% interest card. We are making a really big effort to keep our CC debt down and pay off the balance every month. It's amazing how fast it creeps up!

just old stuff we're working on still. wish we didn't, but it is what is is.

Yup. Somehow we both racked up a lot from August-end of December. We both have tightened and are currently saving less so we can pay them down. PB&J for lunch!

@Mamaof2: we called to get all of our APRs as low as possible, set our monthly payments to well above the minimums for all cards, then followed the Dave Ramsey snowball method of paying off debt (basically start with the smallest balance no matter what the APR is, then when that one is paid off, apply those payments to the next smallest balance, etc until you're making one huge payment to the one huge balance until it's gone) while spending as little as possible. We also sold a ton of stuff and most of the money from selling stuff went straight to whatever CC we were paying at the moment as an extra payment. It took a while and was very painful but SO worth it!! We were paying so much in interest every month.

I'm super proud to say no, and no credit cards! We were really irresponsible with them when we were in college and first married (putting wedding expenses and honeymoon on cc's), but we paid them off about 2 years ago and plan to never have credit cards again.

No,my mother ingrained in me to always pay it off before it's due each month and luckily dh is the same!

Nope! I had a lot of issues with credit cards and debt in my early 20's and worked really hard to pay everything off and learn financial responsibility. We use a credit card to pay for everying, but pay it off in full every month.

I wonder what the answers would be of people in their 20s vs 30s? Judging from my own experience, I would guess that many more 20 somethings than 30 somethings have cc debt!

Nope. My parents taught me to use credit responsibly starting from when I was 15 so I guess I always had good habits.

Never did! And I'm big on using creditcards for rewards and stuff as long as I can still stick to my budget and not go crazy.

@Sparkler: I'm a 20 - something so maybe that's true! I'll have no cc debt by the time I'm 30. Hooray!

No, but I paid it off and it was HARD WORK to do it, too! I had a lot before we got married. It was bad.
pomegranate / 3768 posts
no. i use to before i met DH, but when we started dating he was the one that urged me to pay off all my cc debt and i did!

Yes. About 2K. I am having a hell of a time getting it paid off. I get it down to about $600-800, but then something happens and I have to use the card and it snowballs until I get it wrangled and start chunking it out again. It's so incredibly frustrating. I am really hoping that once we move and have lower mortgage payments I can really get this thing paid off and out of my hair!

Well we have a balance on our credit card but we pay it every month. So no nit really. We just use it for the cash back. Everything goes on the visa, the cash back pays for Christmas.

Yes, but not a crazy amount. Hoping to pay it off within 6 months or so, we recently put our vacation on CC because our debit card has a limit per day to spend.

Yes, and we are busting our butts to pay it off...stupid college mistakes.

@runnerd: @mediagirl: @dolphin: @yoursilverlining: @Mrs. Bee: @autumnlove: @ShootingStar: good for you ladies! Paying this off has been crazy hard. I think I will feel rich when I'm not making a rent payments' worth of income to pay off our cards each month!
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
Nope, we pay it off in full each month. I just use it to accumulate miles.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
Yup, but hoping to pay most of it off soon with the bonus and tax return we just got.
coconut / 8483 posts
Nope, pay it off every month. We don't buy things unless we have the cash for them.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
No, we pay off our credit cards once a month to avoid interest charges. ETA: I'm in my 30's.
