We had good HR a few years ago but the entire department got laid off when we had budget cuts. Now our HR is the CEO's executive assistant who is trying to learn HR stuff as she goes.
Do you have good HR at your work?

Oh heck no! I wish they chose someone qualified though. They actually promoted a receptionist to do the HR at work. Massive fail!

We only have four employees at my office, so no HR.

Yes it's pretty good, but a little annoying at times with paperwork, I like that they are indepth and expect us to be as well, but don't have the instructions to back it up for us to fill everything out correctly.

@autumnlove: sounds like our company. HR was let go, now the woman who was administrative assistant does it and learns as she goes. We have a small company so troubles don't come up that often. If we need to know something, she can find the answers for us.

Yep, but I work for a global staffing solutions firm; so it's kind of our niche! We're so good, companies pay us to outsource their HR!

I can honestly say I have never worked in an office with good HR. In my experience, they have been good at lying and negotiating your salary as low as possible, but not so good at caring for their employees well-being.

Lucky to say I have great HR at work. They're always on top of their game and quite friendly.

Yes. Our office is on the small side so they promoted somebody from another department once they found out she was going to school for HR. She does HR and accounting and it's perfect because she's not a typical HR person.
