I don't have house envy of anyone I know, BUT we are house hunting now and every house I LOVE is out of our price range, so that's a bummer.

Not really, but it's only because we are SO far away from buying a house that I'm ok with our rental reality and don't really think about it.

I wish my house was bigger and that I had the time/energy/talent/funds to fill it with beautiful things but overall I'm happy with our house. I have serious envy of those with giant gourmet kitchens but for now I'm happy. My friend has a beautiful house with an amazing view of the water...she is very upfront that they inherited the property... I wish I had some waterfront property to inherit!

Sometimes, but my house is paid for, so I try to keep it in perspective. LOL!

Nope. Our house isn't the biggest or the best but it's perfectly suited for us and the location is great. The only thing I am envious about are other people's interior decorating. Decorating isn't a budget priority and I'm jealous of people who have Pottery Barn-esque interiors. While we still have our saggy Living Spaces Couch from a million years ago. (Gosh I hate that thing)

I'm actually ok with it. It's a rental, not perfect, but it's in a great, walkable neighborhood. Of course I wish we owned something instead of renting, and I do wish I could decorate and paint the way I would love to, but that's such a far away possibility that it's still a fantasy world.

totally!!! Both times we've gone house shopping, we've gone "over" our budget for the slightly nicer house. It's not THE house by any means, but it's nicer than what we were seeing in our set budget. It sucks!!! It's like seeing a standard home then you see the upgrades and you're like oooooo. I like!!! Then you see the cost of upgrades and you're like ouch! But the upgrades are soooo much nicer than the basic model. Damn advertising and marketing schemes. haha

yea, even though we just bought a house...but it's just our starter home. i see tons of gorgeous houses in our area that we would never be able to afford. makes me a little jealous, but then i think about the huge mortgage that comes along with a home like that!

Yes, our house is lovely but we both want something bigger with a better layout. We could afford to move now, but our financial plan includes us paying down this mortgage aggressively for a few more years so we can upgrade without having much higher monthly payments. Ideally when these kids are both in school.
