I park my car in our garage but I wish I did because I park outside at work. I hate sitting in a cold car!

No, but I really want one. Our garage isn't heated so the car is always freezing when we get in. Our old garage was heated so I didn't miss it but this winter I'm really missing it.

I've wanted one forever but I'm not "allowed" to get one. My family owns an auto repair shop and they're dead set against them. Guess they can do some serious damage.

@bree72: LOL! Would never in a million years have thought that people use it to cool off the car. Here, it's definitely a winter accessory.
We have it in one of the cars. Guess which one we use when it's cold?

@Grace: Oh yeah, it's the best. Mine is factory in my Tahoe, and I can't imagine not having it in the summer here. I'd feel terrible putting my son in his carseat without it. That sucker can turn into an oven when it's 100 degrees out. It's the first time I've had one, and it is amazing.

@bree72: Mine was installed at the dealership before I purchased the car. The $1000 cost was well worth it. My DH was a little hesitant in us spending that much when I bought the car but now that we have had the car for 2 months, I am so happy that I made the decision. I don't think I can ever go back to having a car without it.

I would love one but doubtful that I'll get it installed. I'm too cheap, and I'll just have to toughen up to the extreme cold/hot weather.

@KissMeCait: What do they do to the car? DH won't let me use it because he's afraid of having the car on in the garage...even though the car is a hybrid...and I could crack the garage door open from my phone.

Absolutely. When it's -30 degrees out there is NO WAY I'm going out to the parking lot every 2-3 hours to run my car. I'd probably die or something.
@spaniellove: We just keep a garage remote in our house and open the doors when we start the cars.
My husband used to install these in an auto shop before he went back to school, they're totally safe unless they're installed by someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

Nope and sometimes I wish I did because on mornings where there's frost on the wind shield, I waste 10 minutes waiting for it to defrost because I didn't start my car prior to leaving the house.

Yes, it's great that I can sit at my desk and hit hte button to start the car at work! No cold car when I pick up LO from daycare.

@LazyLightning: It's not heated but it's usually about 10 degrees (celsius) warmer than it is outside.

@hergreenapples: ah that's nice! Ours is still below zero (F) a lot in the winter so the car starters are nice for that as well as at work where we have to park outside.

I dont and really wish I did. DH has been saying he will get it in my car but keeps procrastinating. so now he goes to the car first and warms it up in the morning
