Yeah, my BFFSIL smokes. I used to smoke, too.

My inlaws. I hate it for them. So does DH. My MIL talks all about the breathing problems my FIL has and says that it's better now that they have less animals, but it would be LOADS better if they would just quit smoking! You'd think that was obvious!

My in-laws all smoke (MIL, FIL, and BIL) as do a lot of DH's friends who live in the same area. DH doesn't smoke but he chews tobacco (Which, I know, is so GROSS)

Yep, my ILs. DH smoked for 10 years until I made him quit 2 years ago. I can't even stay at my ILs house overnight because it aggravates my allergies so bad... they've lived (and smoked) in the same house for 30+ years, and there's just no getting away from it

Ha what is with everyone's in-laws smoking?

My moms side of the family has had issues with smoking as long as I can remember and it was the cause of my grandmothers death when she was only 60. It was so sad. Plenty of that side of the family still smokes.

There are a lot of smokers in my apartment building as well which totally sucks. They're not allowed to smoke in the apartment but that doesn't help at all.

My boss's husband is a chain smoker, and he rolls his own cigarettes.

One of my coworkers smokes occasionally, but he's an emo douchebag and I'm pretty sure he only smokes when he's "brooding."

I think those are the only 2 people I know personally who smoke or still smoke...

@septemberlove: They smoke?? That right there is a good reason to stay in a hotel, with a little baby!

@cascademom: My DH says this to his parents all the time. How are they broke? Both of them work - FIL makes really good money - yet they're always broke because of smoking and gambling. It's crazy!

I quit with each of my 3 pregnancies but haven't been able to stop long term.
Addiction sucks.

My sister might.. she used to very secretly (like no one ever saw her do it, but she did) but she quit.. i'm not sure if she is still quit or not since she is so secretive about it! My brother I think still does. Blah.
My cousin secretly does.. and she is pregnant. She has pretended to not smoke since she got pregnant with her first (who will be 3 later this year). She said at the time "my doctor told me if I'm really craving a cigarette, it's better to have one then to stress about it".... First of all, I don't think her doctor said that?? Second of all, if he did, I'm pretty sure he meant like one time. Not many times per day!

Anyways after the first babe, I saw cigs in her purse so I knew she still was. This weekend I saw her and she gave me a hug and I could smell the smoke on her.. she is over 20 weeks along SOOO dumb.

@artbee: I think the same thing as you! Especially when I see young people smoking, or young pretty girls! I'm like, what are you doing to yourself? How are you not informed??

Sadly my dad is a very heavy smoker (has been my whole life) and my older sister is too. Because of growing up with my dad I never ever smoked, not even once, and I never will. It's so strange to me that my sister smokes after growing up in the same house. She tries to hide it/lie about it but we all know.

Because of my dad smoking in the house we will not take LO over to my parents house. It makes me sad.

I totally forgot - DH smoked when we first met! He quit cold turkey before we got engaged though and hasn't smoked in like 5 years now, proud of him!

My mother used to smoke. She had to quit recently for surgery. She has quit with hypnotism 2x before but always goes back to it. I hope this time sticks.

My in-laws (they are divorced) also smoke. I don't think they are quitting any time soon. I hate it.

I have a few aunts that still smoke, and a few coworkers that I'm not close to. Not many people though. I also have a hard time imagining why young people started, but I can understand that it's incredibly hard to quit once you are addicted. I already told DH that I will be completely furious if I ever find out kid smoking, but I caught them drinking I'd be like, I have to punish you, but meh.

@Mrs. Champagne: I have heard that the physical stress of withdrawal can be worse for the fetus than the actual cigarette. I never talked to a doctor about it or anything, since I am not a smoker, but I've heard that line a few times.

Almost all of my aunts and uncles, my BIL and his wife, and a good bit of my friends. Lots of smokers around. My parents did when I was growing up but quit when I was in college.

Most of my friends do & my ex does. They used to leave me in restaurants as 'collateral' while they'd all go out to smoke & I was the only non smoker, it sucked. Only one cousin smokes, other than that our families don't. My dad did, only outside the house, when I was little.

Quitting smoking was one of the best things I've done in my life - it's way up there with getting married and having DS. It's been years and I can't believe I was a slave to it! I also can't believe DH fell in love with me in spite of it

My parents still smoke, 1 of my BFFs and my sister is a closet smoker.

I'm a former smoker who stupidly has had an occasional one when out with friends having drinks. It's my guilty bad disgusting habit. I know it's gross, I know it's bad, but something about an occasional one in a casual setting gets me. I can go months without one and then have one and not crave one again until I get tipsy, so this happens very rarely but still something I wish I would break for good!

One of my BFF smokes like a chain, I hate it she smells like it all the time. I so does DH"s cousin (one of his best friends) I hate when he talks to E becasue it's on his breathe all the time.
