I actually know a lot of people who still smoke. Most of my friends, extended family on my moms side, my sister, my DH (he's trying to quite and has cut way down), several coworkers.
However, unlike a lot of you guys, my IL's don't smoke! LOL I think BIL smokes occasionally? But they live in another state so I don't know how much or even if he still does.
I used to smoke as well, but quit in '07. Thankfully. My mom quit a few months before me.

My sister and BIL are my only family members that do, which is amazing because all but one of my siblings used to smoke (I am one of 6). My mom and step-dad used to smoke, but quit in 2008 when my mom had her heart attack. I quit last summer when I found out I was pregnant (and I have no desire to start back). My 2 brothers and 1 sister all quit within the last year as well. Family functions are so much more pleasant now.

A lot of my family members smoke, including my brothers.

Several co-workers and my husbands step mom and maybe mom? I can't remember if she quit. I actually do not mind other people smoking. The smell reminds me of vacations.

Luckily I don't know anyone who does. I have asthma and I just associate the smell with the feeling of being unable to breathe. Plus is smells nasty.

My mom does. I encourage her to quit, and she says that she wants to, but she doesn't even try (self-confessed).

my dad & brother, my mom used to but quit a few years ago. my bff's sister smoked throughout both her pregnancies, and she had to have an emergency c-section in both as well at 30 weeks. but she doesn't think smoking had anything to do with it...

My mom and sister. My SO's stepmom. Plus some friends. I smoked in high school, quit when I met my SO and he told me that kissing me was like licking an ashtray. Hahah. My dad quit after probably 40 years of smoking and I was so proud of him. And my FSIL's husbnd use to smoke too.

One of my best friends does and it drives me nuts. My brother does. Also, alllllllllllll of DH's fam. Actually, I know a ton of people IRL that smoke!

Nope I don't know anyone and I hate walking by smokers and being in elevators with smokers!

Get this . I work for a company of 18 people. At least 5 of them smoke. One girl started smoking just so she could hang out with the other smokers!!!

DH's brother smokes. It's gross and I worry about him. He's tried many times to quit.

My mother and MIL both smoke. My mom goes outside to do it, and only smokes a few a day. My MIL on the other hand smokes like a chimney. I told my husband that she's either going to have to smoke outside or we are staying at a hotel this Christmas.

None of my friends or family smoke. I'm also amazed when I see young people smoking.

My mom smokes. She's quit several times before. It really annoys me. She smokes in her car and gets mad that nobody wants to ride with her. It's like riding in an ashtray on wheels! I also have several FB/high school friends (most in their early 20s) that smoke and the two neighbors that we know both smoke.

I used to. I quit in Jan 2012 and so glad I did.
My FIL smoked his whole life, quit last year and just now started back up. We're very upset right now.
My SIL smokes and smoked the whole way through her pregnancy. I wanted to smack her senseless. Her poor baby smells like an ashtray whenever he comes over.
That's all I know personally. All other family that smoked switched to those vapor cigarettes. I don't know if you consider it smoking or not.

Not personally - our neighbors across the street from us smoke and I can smell it in our yard sometimes! I am so sensitive to smoke, my eyes water when the car next to me is smoking!

My co-worker smokes, I wish she didn't. She is trying very much hard to stop and she doesn't ever smoke around me or anyone else.

Just DH's family. At DD's 1st birthday party, his uncle started smoking IN our house. It was gross...and around children? Ugh.
persimmon / 1304 posts
Just an aunt and uncle left who still smoke. When I was a kid, there were around 15 smokers on my mom's side of the family, including my mom. I am so proud of the rest of them for quitting!

My MIL smokes, and has that bad smoker's voice. I worry a lot about her, I just worry she will get really sick one day. My DH is really close to her, so it's hard for him too. My FIL does sometimes, I never know if has "quit" or not. My grandma does, and is on oxygen as well, figure that one out... Other than that just a few aunts, uncles, and cousins. For the most part though it is not people from my generation.
