I was tried my first bite of bread pudding two years ago and now I'm hooked.
I tried making my own but it's just not the same (or I'm not using the right ingredients.)

Yeah! It's one of the only things I'll actually make cause it's that easy!

Eeeehhhh... I've never tried it. My friend worked at a restaurant that served supposedly *amazing* bread pudding, but she told me they they threw everyone's scraps of bread into the bucket to make it. So, if you didn't finish the bread from your sandwich - into the bucket! Bucket of bread only got half eaten - into the bucket! Didn't matter if it was half eaten or not. Sooo, I just can't let myself ever try it.
This was even from a restaurant I would have thought was clean and nice!

I LOVE bread pudding. The bread pudding at the Columbia restaurants in FL is AMAZING, it's made with that delicious cuban bread. I've also never attempted it but would love to. Especially pumpkin bread pudding.
@snowjewelz: share your recipe!
@swurlygurl: that is disgusting!!!

@swurlygurl: OMG, that is horrifying...i mean, i understand why they would do that from a cost perspective and it's heated, but still, eeeeeewwwww.

@swurlygurl: yucky! Not sure what state you're in, but in every restaurant I ever worked, food handling requirements meant that you had to throw out everything that was put on a table, even if it went totally untouched (like, a basket of breadsticks that the table didn't want).
Of course, usually in those situations, the breadsticks would find their ways into the hands of the kitchen staff, busboys, or hungry waitstaff---but NEVER back to a customer.

I love it! The BBQ place by me makes it with Krispy Kreme doughnuts--so bad but OH so good!

Yes! I used to make it all the time as a kid. I haven't had it in years though. maybe I'll dig out the recipe this week.

@kjpugs: I think I just use a pretty standard one... But I think you're supposed to use that Hawaiian sweet bread for the best results?

@swurlygurl: What?!?! That's nuts and gross! There has to be something against that. The health department would definitely frown upon that. I'm hoping your friend was exaggerating.
@kjpugs: Pumpking bread pudding. Yum!
@Mrs. Taco: OMG. Krispy Kreme bread pudding!

@snowjewelz: there are just so many options! Sweet vs savory, a sauce... like I've had chocolate chip bread pudding (NOMM) but savory is delicious too... how do you have yours?
