This is my first pregnancy and I like hearing the heartbeat (or seeing the baby if that is what the appt is for) but I hate schlepping there. My appts are always so early (7:30 tomorrow! oof.)

I did until this past one where she said I gained too much weight But I do love hearing the heartbeat every time!

I do when it comes to seeing/hearing the baby! But it is a pain.. I don't like getting blood drawn & things stuck into me! And the waiting around!

I do. It feels like I'm getting things done. And every appointment brings me closer to baby!

I do, mostly! At the beginning it was sort of love/hate because I was so excited to hear the heartbeat every time, but also so scared of finding out something was wrong. Once I got past my anatomy scan I calmed down and started just enjoying them as a way to check in with LO without any stress. Although I'll admit I feel a little "meh" about the last few (I'm 38.5 right now). I'm really lucky to have had a very normal/non-dramatic pregnancy and I feel good (mostly) and feel very in-tune to LO so going every week is sometimes like... ugh I need to spend an hour doing this again? I promise she's good. I can tell she's just fine. lol. But I know it's still good to confirm even though I feel like I can tell that she and I are a-okay anyways.

I loved it in the beginning because I wanted to hear the heartbeat, but now that I'm feeling kicks it kind of feels like a waste. I mean, obviously it's for a reason, but I'm not pumped for them like I used to be.

I thought I would like them more but I am mostly just meh about them. I wish I saw the same person every time but they make us rotate and I keep having to explain stuff over and over.

I really liked going with my last pregnancy, but it's going to be different this time. Either having to figure out childcare or drag a toddler to an appointment stresses me out.

Well I am seeing OB and a specialist. I countdown to the specialist ones bc I get an ultrasound every time.
The OB ones feel like a waste of time in comparison.

Yes and no. The logistics are annoying - downtown office, expensive parking. I hate peeing in a cup every time (there is ALWAYS someone else's cup in the door, yuck!), and having my blood pressure taken. My doctor's office feels like a baby factory, but I never feel rushed with my doctor.
But its nice being able to ask questions and hear the heartbeat, and it helps to feel like time is passing.

I hate the wait time but love hearing the heart beat! I especially looked forward to the appointment when I know Im getting an ultrasound.

Yes. I love my doc. We always have great conversations and we talk like friends. I actually was sad PP when I wouldnt see her as frequently!

No!!! I feel like they're such a waste of time (other than hearing the heartbeat which I love).

Yes and no. I love my doctors and would never switch practices, but the logistics stink. I'm 45 minutes from their main office (which is more like 90 mins in traffic, plus parking fees) and I'm 20 minutes from their satellite office (but limited appointment availability).
It's especially harder orchestrating visits with my 2.5 year old. So far she's tried to look into someone else's urine sample cup, has nearly opened the bathro door while I'm on the toilet, thought Pap smear sticks were a tooth brush, and most recently, today she handed my OB the gel (whatever is is?!) for pelvic exams.
It's a lot more work with Chloe for a simple 5 minute appointment!

@Danizaur: me too! It was one of the only places I felt that way, to be honest.
I loved going to my appointments, even when some of them made me nervous. I always left feeling better. I will miss them!

Eh. I love my Dr., love hearing the heartbeat, love the reassurance that everything is fine.
I HATE the wait time. My Dr is soooooo popular, and every time I go I swear to myself that I'm going to find a new OB, but then I meet with her and remember why I love her so much. But the wait stresses me out, so I don't look forward to my appointments.

I am always excited to hear the heartbeat or see the baby (my next visit, 32 week, will be an ultrasound to check growth and position ). My OB's office is really close to work so it is pretty convenient, but the peeing in a cup and being weighed are getting kind of old. Also my doctor is super efficient, which means I am usually in and out pretty quickly, but I don't always feel like I am getting as much information and attention as I would like.

I like it when I get an ultrasound. Otherwise I am so rushed there I leave barely knowing what happened. I am getting better at getting all of my questions/concerns out immediately, but I really wish everything wasn't so rushed.

I like the ones with the midwife. The ones with the OBs and MFMs are a total waste of time, which is ironic because I'm high risk. The midwife actually looks through my history and talks about what is going on.

I had a midwife and she was the absolute best ever I seen her all throughtout my pregnancy and even when I went through my mc before this pregnancy and I got lucky enough that she was on call when I went into labor and she got to deliver my baby. I cried when she wasnt available for my 6 week check up lol probably was the hormones but I will try to always keep her as my midwife with any future pregnancy
Eta plus her office is 5 minutes away from my house

love them! I could listen to the heartbeat all day, everyday. and since I'm on bed rest the appointments are the only times I'm off the couch and out of the house so it's def something I look forward to every week.

First time I did but so far this time has been a little annoying. I've waited forever for the OB and she only sees patients one day per week which is inconvenient. I do still love hearing the heartbeat though!

Not at all. I appreciate the fact that they provide reassurance and also check to make sure all is well with my body and baby's heart rate but it also starts to feel like a bit of a waste of time since they are generally just in and out and I wait longer then I'm actually there.

@LovelyPlum: I miss them too! I told my nurse at my 6 week pp appointment that I was going to miss coming every week. It seems weird to not be going back for a year!

First time pregnant here, and I love them so far! Not looking forward to my glucose test coming up though...

I liked them and looked forward to them. I liked anything that had to do with checking in on my LO!
The next time I imagine I will be busier and not like them as much, but who knows!

I did cause I knew that every time I was going ibto the office, I'd know that my baby is ok.
However, I was going weekly from 20 weeks on and 2-3 times a week after 33 weeks, so I definitely did get tired of seeing that place towards the end!
