We leased a new car over Thanksgiving and the negotiation process was BRUTAL! Ugh, even though negotiating is my job as a lawyer, I really hate the car buying process.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE it!!! I will only negotiate online and then come in to buy. If they try to keep me there for hours, I'll walk out. I can't stand the sleasy salesmen and their tactics to try to get you to pay more... Why do they have to drag it out so long?? Don't they realize that no one enjoys buying a car because of THEM? Ughhhh

For one of my cars, I shopped prices online and agreed on a price before I even went there - then we got them to come down even more. For our next one there was no negotiating; we were on a waiting list for the car! And the most recent one was pretty low-key too...the sales guy kept emailing us offers until we saw one we liked and it was all taken care of over email so we just had to go in and sign.

I don't think it was that bad, but I like arguing and a challenge. The last car we bought, we had a price we wanted and was not willing to budge, and they eventually gave in.

Nope, bought one last month and it sucked. The negotiations weren't terrible, but the idiot sales person had 'forgotten' to replace a part and get it inspected before we picked it up and we've spent three weeks trying to get it straightened out because we live an hour and a half away from where we bought it. It's been ridiculously stupid.
