Whats your job? and do you like it? what do you dislike?
I'm a social worker in the CPS field. I basically work a program where we are put into place as a last resort for families before children are placed in foster care. i really like my job (very flexible, great coworkers/boss and my own office). i like working with the families but the lack of progess can be frustrating!
I also dislike some of the heartbreaking situations i see, it could wear your down mentally sometimes.

I'm a marketing and public relations coordinator for a non-profit. It has its good days and its bad days. Right now it's kind of bad. I'm really looking forward to maternity leave.

I do! I work in grant administration for a scholarly association--this particular grant provides support to scholars from low and middle-income countries, so it has been interesting interacting with people from all over the world (though the time difference makes things move slower sometimes 
).
I previously worked in grant administration in academic health sciences. One of those jobs that I didn't even realize existed until I started doing it!!
My current job is only a year contract, so I'm starting to think about what to do next. Hopefully stay employed by the university system where I am currently (benefits are AWESOME). There is one company in my city that is basically my dream company, so we'll see if anything opens up there in the next year...if it does I might be tempted to leave the university

I work in a very large corporation doing records management. I like it enough. I've been at my job for 10 years. Over the years, I've gotten a lot of flexibility in my job as my personal life has changed. I have the ability to be there for my kids while still working full time. Some days, it's a lot of the same. Other days, I'm doing a lot of internal customer service and searches.

I love my job and I love the company I work for, which makes a huge difference. What I love most is that I do something different every day and it's mentally challenging. I need a hard mental challenge on a regular basis, I don't do well with lots of downtime or boring tasks.
I work in the law department of a huge insurance company. Sounds boring, but it's not

I love my job. I'm a freelance translator and I love the challenge of figuring out language. I'm always learning about new things since I work in a number of different fields. I also just started doing some pro bono work and I'm really thrilled to be able to give back, even if it's just in a small way. Since I'm self employed, I have a huge amount of flexibility which is perfect since we are raising our two LOs far away from family help.

I 'like' my job and the people I work with, but not so much what I do anymore. I'm a graphic designer, but because I work for a small company my duties have changed a lot over the past 8 years. I was originally hired to design a catalog and handle marketing, which I still do, but very little of my job involves designing anymore, which I miss.

@stargal: I'm in a similar position! I'm a psychologist working in the field of child maltreatment - so dcpp (child protective services in nj) refers to my agency children to evaluate as a result of their involvement due to physical/sexual abuse and/or neglect. We also provide therapy and train students. I love the opprtunity I have to make a direct impact in the lives of children who have endured so much trauma, but I agree, the heartbreaking situations we see day in and out can be tough at times. I work with amazing people and we practice a lot of self-care! There is also a ton of flexibility and I work 9-3, four days a week.
Additionally, I have a private practice where I see patients and am a contracted vendor with dcpp where I conduct psychological evaluations for parents.

I'm a high-school teacher and absolutely love it! I've been teaching 12 years in a great disrict. I teach Spanish, an inquiry class for the international Baccalaureate program, and an interventive English class. My kids are so different and so challenging and so wonderful.

I'm a nurse in homecare and I have good days and bad days. Today I was around a severely depressed patient and it really wears you down!
The time management is tricky cause I have to drive between homes. There's little work life balance because 50% of our job is on the computer so you bring work home with you and there's always so much charting/care coordination/ messages/emails/ etc to do at the end of the day.
I like the actual nursing aspect- being with patients, doing skills, teaching them to manage their diseases. But all the extra stuff wears me out.
One hand, it's nice being salary and working m-f 8-5. But on the other, there's are least 1-2 days a week I log more like 10-12 hour days. We also have to be on call once a month and work one weekend a month.
Most nurses don't work 50 hours a week like I do. So it gets really exhausting given the nature of my work.
But I'm sticking with it.

I'm an engineer and I like how challenging my job is, and that I don't have to sit at a desk all day and get to go to all kinds of cool places. I like that I've been involved in lots of big and small projects that are iconic parts of NYC now. I don't like that my work, for a long time, was mostly helping build houses for very rich people. I'd rather put my effort into other things. I also don't like that because what I do now (management and lots of negotiating) is totally out of my comfort zone, this job takes so much of my time and creativity, and I have next to nothing left for my family.

Yup. I supervise customer service and write/deliver training for a large online stationery company. I routinely go between our 2 offices, have a mostly good work - life balance and enjoy going to work each day. I do wish I wasn't working Saturdays, but that is how it goes.

I love my company but don't care for my current job yet. It's new, I got moved to that team at 20 weeks pregnant. Hoping it gets more interesting. I am a project manager managing a team of consultants in the development of course content for technical trainings and labs.

I work in the office at a winery and I receive a monthly wine allowance... So yes, I like my job!
But seriously, I've only been back in the workforce since the end of May (have been out since October 2012) and although I do enjoy my job I'm doing it for the $$ and for the maternity leave if we have a third baby next year!

I like my job a lot. I design software so that it's easy to use. I currently work for a large start up in the security industry. I like the company a lot, I love my boss, and I have lots of flexibility and I feel appreciated.
