For example, today the Verizon guy came to install a new cable card in our Tivo - can I make him take off his shoes? He was in and out of the house for maybe 3 or 4 times getting stuff out of his van so it would have been annoying to put his shoes on and off. I always want to ask people to take off their shoes but I ultimately do not because I don't want to be annoying. What do you do in situations like that?

Most won't take their shoes off because the job tells them not to. You can ask them to put on booties over their work boots, though.

Ok so I totally have a thing about wearing shoes indoors. So I bought these shoe covers on Amazon and make work people put them on. They usually appreciate it and man, so do i!

Yup, definitely go for the booties!!! I haven't bought any because I always found they had them with them. This...after a woman left mud stains all over our carpet on our stairs.

I never ask them to remove them, because it is workplace health and safety code in my province, that all workers must wear shoes at all times, and I wouldn't ask a worker to do something to could void their Workers Compensation payments if they were to get injured working in my home. I make friends and family remove their shoes though!

Usually I don't.. sometimes Iw ill though. WHen I used to live in an apartment I'd have hospital booties for them to wear.

I never do. I don't mind shoes. But then again I always just say that the cleaning lady will deal with it when she comes. I know that will have to change once LO is crawling all over my floors.
