DH bought a nice video camera before LO was born and we don't use it that much...not since the first month? We both use the video function on our iPhones.
I'm gonna charge that camera right now!!!

We have a flip video camera and I usually only take it on vacation. I should use it more.

I definitely will use one. we don't own one (just an iphone) but my grandparents bought one a couple years ago and don't use it, so they offered to let me 'borrow' it I'm so thrilled! that was one of my favorite things growing up - watching home videos!

I am considering one as well! The thing I don't like about iPhone videos is the vertical size. I wish it had a wider screen!

I definitely plan to get a video camera when I get pregnant!
One of my friends recently took all their home videos from the last 10 years (her daughter is 10 and her son is 7), and she made the most wonderful compilation of footage for her husband on Father's Day! She said he LOVED it and was in tears. She also filmed a segment of her kids in their PJs sitting on the couch and giving a video message for their dad. And then on Father's Day morning, the kids wore the same PJs and they all sat on the same couch to watch the video. Apparently, it was a really awesome effect and he was so impressed! I'd love to do this one day too! (In 10 years, haha)

I bought a sony handycam for DH for Christmas. He loves to take videos with his phone, so when his old phone crapped out, he was heartbroken that he'd lost all his videos because he had never baked them up anywhere. The camera was also so we'd have one around once we have a LO to video:) still hasn't been used though, lol.

We have the Kodak version of the Flip video camera and it was so important for us to record videos at the hospital. A week later we bought a Nikon dslr that also records HD video, and it is amazing. We capture so many moments in photos and videos using the same device.
For my LO's birthday I made a video montage of his first year, and it made the both of us cry seeing him grow up. I hope to do the same every year.

@banana: Just basic microsoft movie maker that you can download for free on their website. I had no knowledge of using video editing software and found it easy to navigate.

We don't use it all the time, but we do sometimes. It's fun to once in a while just get it out to tape LO playing. Or if she's doing something super cute I'll run and get it. DH uses his phone a lot, but I prefer to use the nice camera..

I just got a sony handycam for my baby shower from my mother in law. I kind of feel obligated to take videos since she got it for us. I guess we will see once baby is here!

We ordered one for the birth, but LO was early so it arrived after he was born. Every time he reaches a new milestone or does something extra cute we use it. In fact, we used it last night to record him walking!
