I would much prefer being the driver. I get really nervous being a passenger in the car - so I usually try to zone out and not pay attention to how the person is driving. Whenever my husband and I are together though, he drives because I hate his backseat driving even more.

I hate hate hate hate driving! I have a license, and even co-owned a car with dh for awhile, but I never drive. We live in NYC now so it doesn't make a big difference, but still when we rent cars I never get behind the wheel.

I prefer being the driver because DH gets a little angry and road rage-y when he drives. Plus, I get control of the radio.
But only if I'm familiar with where we are going. If I'm going into a new town or new downtown city, I'll let the DH drive. I'm not a fan of city driving.

I prefer to be the driver. Since pregnancy, I've developed really bad carsickness, so I have to sit up front either way. Also, so many people are crap drivers (jerky type movements on the wheel, press the gas over and over instead of smoothly) that I would just rather drive since I never feel sick if I'm driving. I also loooove driving!

Passenger. I hate driving, especially in new places. 90% of the time DH drives.

Definitely passenger. I enjoy the trip more, but I prefer to be the front passenger. I get car sick if I sit in the back. =\

@nana87: Oh yeah, NYC driving is tricky. I used always avoid driving into manhattan.
@bluestriped bee: Yes, DH gets road rage too. He thinks he's the traffic police. And he's impatient.
@yoursilverlining: That's the other thing. DH drives like a taxi driver. He's heavy foot on the pedals so his driving makes me sick too.

DEPENDS who is driving! If someone is a good driver and drive like me, then I am comfortable. If someone is a bad driver or does things that are my pet peeves than pleaaase let me drive!

If we're in the city or driving around town, I drive. DH gets a little road ragey and I usually know where I"m going. If it's a long trip, I hate driving.
