I prefer to go over to someone else's house because it's more fun for our kids than staying home! But we usually do 50/50 with our regular playdate friends.

Going to friends. Our house isn't baby proofed yet as B isn't mobile. It makes me anxious when there are kids playing in my house as I don't want them to get hurt. We also don't have many toys and stuff to entertain if the kids are a little older.

We alternate and I like that. I wouldn't want to host every time and I like hosting when it's our turn.

hosting! it's pain to get her ready to go, and then it's easy to let her keep napping if it's in the middle of a nap

Both have their advantages--if we go to someone else house I don't have to worry about being "on" the whole time nor do I have to make sure the house is spotless beforehand. Though if we stay home she gets to nap in her cot when she's ready and it's not such a pain to rush to get out of the house.

Hosting. I love having people over!
Hosting is also easier because I don't have to pack a huge bag full of all her bottles/snacks/clothes etc and lug it out to the car, I don't have to baby-wrestle to get her ready and out of the house and I don't have to listen to her scream in the car seat! Plus I have everything at my disposal here!

Hosting. My house is baby proofed to our needs so it's a lot easier at this age until my baby is older. She can wander our house and I know it's safe so I can have a bit more fun, too.

I'd prefer not at our house but have had a couple since moving here. I miss having a huge basement and their moon bounce.

Hosting! That way I can easily put her down for a nap if she needs it.

i like getting out and going somewhere different, but hosting is definitely easier in terms of planning around naps, etc. because we don't have spend time in transit. most of our friends take at least 30-40 minutes to get too.
Though now that LO is getting older and starting to drop down to one nap, the travel time won't be so much of an issue anymore.
