Because my husband only sees LO on the weekends, he hasn't gotten the hang of our routine. But he always wants me to go out and take a break but I can never relax! I always worry about LO and whether or not hubs is stressed and handling everything okay. 
If you leave LO alone with your SO, are you at ease?

Yes, totally. Maybe it's cause DH is very involved with day to day care for our son. He's probably better at some things than I am.

Rubies my husband is home two weeks and then traveling two weeks so I understand what you mean about him not knowing the schedule. I am an extensive list writer though and leave him all the information he should need. Plus my nanny is usually still home even if she is technically off duty haha so she is my failsafe

The longest I've left LO with DH is 3 hours. I was worried/thinking about them the entire time.

I'm very at ease. He knows the routine. But even if he deviates its not the end of the world. As long as nobody gets hurt, life is good.

I work full time and dh works from home, so I have no choice but to trust him for 9 ish hours every day! I worried at first but not anymore. He does a great job and is better at talking to him then me - he likes to think out loud while sometimes I have trouble keeping up a one sided conversation with our 6 month old

I can watch our 27-month-old no problem, but am not yet able to watch our five-month-old very well!

He does a very good job. I do worry the first time he does something new, like the first time I was away for more than a couple hours, but he's always done so good with her so I don't worry much anymore.

SO is the only one I'm at ease with leaving LO with. I can't even be at ease with my mom. She was giving LO a bath the other day while I cleaned up his toys from around the house and she walked away and left him in the tub alone while she answered her phone!

@mrbee: It sure was. I try to be laid back as long as LO is safe and happy, but that crossed a line for me.

@mrbee: I yelled at her, and told her she was fired. She laughed it off saying she "could hear him" and I then told her about the dangers of being so careless. She never gets it. I'm always explaining why babies can't eat certain things because of allergies, e.g. peanut butter, shellfish and she still always tries to feed LO stuff I tell her not to.

I worry a little when DH is looking after LO. She is only 10 weeks old and he hasn't spent long periods of time alone with her yet, so he isn't too familiar with her cries and cues. Plus, if it's at night, after he comes home from work, he will fall asleep while watching her.

Totally, and my husband works a lot outside of the home.
Parenting is not something I take lightly, we both decided to have this child and it is our responsibility as a couple to raise him together. Our split of duties may not be even, but he knows what to do and I trust him to do it.

Sure, we are both very easy going and don't really have a set schedule, we just react to what Cam needs.
My husband actually had spent more time alone with him than I had when he stopped paternity leave after 3 weeks.
I try to take on too much, so when my husband is home I try to leave the house for an hour or two to take a break. Otherwise I'll be working on the house and not relaxing. I have no problem falling into a sleeping coma when its my night off too. I know they will come wake me up if the bottle isn't working and the boobs are needed.

Oh yeah.
I'm fine with almost any of our close friends watching LO, as well as almost anyone in my family (the only family members on my side that I worry about are the ones who are older and frail, and would have a hard time carrying LO). I worry a little about FIL since he's easily distracted and LO often comes back with a few more bumps and bruises, but I try to be chill.

Definitely, since he is a SAHD. It has made me much more comfortable being back at work that DS is home with Daddy, I feel much more comfortable having him with the baby than anyone else. I went back at 6 weeks and DH has always been very comfortable with him.

Our baby isn't born yet but I'm not nervous about the idea of leaving the baby at home with my husband. Will everything be done the exact way I like it? No. But the baby is half him too so if he does something different, so be it. Plus, we have awesome neighbors who I know would be there in 15 seconds flat if he needed help.

I trust DH with LO no problem but I do feel bad sometimes because I am CONSTANTLY saying how we do things, what to do, how to do it, etc but luckily DH is very understanding! I am a control freak...especially when it comes to DD but I'm working on it!!

I think I'll be just fine with him alone with the baby. While he hasn't spent much time with kids/babies, neither have I. We are going to learn together and I know he will be immersing himself in her life. He, I don't worry about. The grandfathers? Those, I worry about.

I left LO alone with DH for an hour and half yesterday while I had an appointment. I wasn't nervous and it went totally fine. LO is only 8 days old, so really- what could happen? It's not like he really does much yet- just eat, sleep, and stare (very cutely!)

Yup I trust him. It doesn't bother me too much if he doesn't follow the routine and LO is pretty flexible so it's cool. Then again, I haven't really left them for more than a couple of hours...

I worry when I see my husband watching TV or on his phone when he's taking care of our baby. I also worry that he puts too much pressure on our 5 month old to meet certain milestones while playing. I don't worry too much about the routine, but then again, I get annoyed if the baby is obviously tired or hungry and my husband can't tell or isn't doing anything about it. It's tough! I still don't really enjoy my "breaks" but I know that it's the only way my husband will learn what to do.
