I noticed a number of people mentioned that they still call their parents mommy and daddy. My son didn't get the memo apparently, because he's cut way back on calling me daddy! I actually prefer dad, but I was sad about it anyway - probably because it feels like the end of an era.
Do you still call your parents "mommy" or "daddy"? If not, do you remember when you made the transition?

I still call my mom mommy. I call my dad daddy when talking about him to my sister, to him I call me "baba", canto for daddy.

I don't remember ever calling my parents mommy or daddy. We are also not teaching our LO to call us that (we say mama and dada right now. I hope she'll stick with mama until she switches to mom, and my husband is already trying to get her to say dad rather than daddy). I actually called my parents mom and pops growing up (and now for my LO they are grandma and papa).

I call them umma and appa 
sometimes I answer hi daddy on the phone when my dad calls, but I think that's more out of habit from when I was younger than me actually calling him that. I refer to them as halmeh and halbeh now since that's what DS calls them.

We all call my mom "Mommy" (there are 4 of us). Didn't grow up with my dad, I call him Dad.

Nope, I call them "dad" and "mum" if not by their first names because I'm sassy like that.
But I'm in the South and lots of adults, even grown men, still call their parents 'mama and 'daddy'

I call them mom and dad. I can't ever remember calling them mommy and daddy. We refer to ourselves our mama and daddy to the kids, although DH is dada now that they can actually say that!

I still say "Mama"; my mother still calls my grandmother "mommy". My son and foster children say "umma and appa" to us.

I never say mommy. Mom or Momma or Meema which is what DS calls her. My dad I usually call Papa but sometimes Daddy.

I call my parents "mom" and "dad." DH calls his parents by their names. It's always weirded me out. I'm cool with calling them by their names as he is with my parents, but their kids doing it just seems so unsettling to me.

Not really. When I was little, although I did call them "mommy" and "daddy," I would also make up names for them. I called my mom "Meems" for awhile, lol. No idea why! Sometimes I'll call her that now as a joke
ETA: I do think that calling your dad "daddy" can be a southern thing. My mom and her sister still call my late grandfather that when they talk about him.

For most of my life they were mom and dad, though within the past 5 years or so I've started calling my mom Mama more. Weird.

I call them mom or dad. Weirdly, my 21 month old has started switching from "mama" and "dada" to "Mommy" and "daddy". I don't even know where she learned it--daycare? It's so weird!!

No! They haven't been mommy and daddy in a long time. My husband's siblings refer to their parents that way among each other and it's so weird sounding.

I say mommy and daddy on occasion, but most often mom and dad. DH has called his parents by their first names since he was a kid, a trend his then teenage sister started.

I call them Mama and Daddy, or Oma and Opa when LO is around. I agree that it can be a regional thing. A lot of people who I know that are from the south do this. I don't find it weird or awkward; I think it's sweet

Definitely mom and dad. I call my dad "dadjo" sometimes. I can't remember the last time I called them mommy and daddy aside from high school when I wanted something.

I don't think I ever called them "mommy" or "daddy"... unless I was purposely teasing, whining or playing.
On a daily basis since childhood, I called "Mom" and "Dad" respectively.
Sometimes when I'm yelling down the stairs, it's "MA!"
ETA: Actually, I do remember calling my mother "mommy" when I was a toddler...? So ya, maybe.

I agree that it's regional. I'm from the South, and call my dad "daddy," and mom "momma." She had me stop "mommy" in fifth grade because she was afraid I'd get made fun of. Which was probably a legitimate concern, but at the time I was hurt. I doubt I would have continued it indefinitely though.

I use Mom and Daddy. Sometimes I do think its weird to still say Daddy but when I've tried to say Dad, it just sounds odd.
My 3yo started calling us Mom and Dad, we always used mama and dada without giving any thought to what he would use long term, it was just easier to say, but I guess I have no preference. He recently started calling us by our first names when other ppl are around - I guess so they know who he's talking about? We discourage it but I think its funny to see people's reactions.

I agree it may be regional - I call my mom "mom" and don't remember ever calling her mommy, but I use "daddy" very frequently to this day and know several other adults who do too!

I never call my mom "mommy" anymore and I can't remember a time when I did. But I do on occassion call my dad "daddy", but only to him in an affectionate way. I don't refer to him as "my daddy" to my husband or something lol.

I still call my dad daddy and called my mom mommy until she died 3 years ago. My mom actually always called her parents mommy and daddy too, so it never seemed odd to me.

DH and all his full grown brothers do. It is sooooo strange to me!! I try not to judge but it is just a feeling!
