I'm nearly at the end of my 2nd trimester and sometimes I really want to hear the baby heartbeat especially when I havent felt her move in a long while. I didnt want to get a fetal doppler because I'm worried I will over use it, so I decided to get a stethoscope instead since it can be used in many other ways as well. Did anyone else go this route?

I know @bee got one. I decided not to go that route because I know I would be "obsessed" with listening to it all the time.

I didn't... I would also get obsessed and freak out if I didn't hear something when it would probably just be user error.

My husband is a doc and has one at home. I'm 20 weeks and have tried listening but haven't heard anything yet (though, could be due to my anterior placenta). I'm sure I'll keep trying to listen as the weeks go by.

My husband has one so we used it to listen to baby a lot. I think it was around midway through pregnancy. She sounded like a choo choo train.

Yeah I know a couple of people who have stethoscopes at home because they work as nurses or doctors so I thought its a great thing to have around the house even after the baby comes.

we have one and still haven't been able to hear them. i think we tried last week sometime when i was 26 weeks.
