With Charlie I only put on Aquaphor at bedtime. He's never had a diaper rash though, so I guess he's fine.
I used to put on Aquaphor with every change for Olive, but now I only do it after a poop or at bedtime.
What about you?

I've only ever used Aquaphor if I saw a bit of redness and that's only happened a handful of times.

The only time I used diaper rash was when LO had diaper rash (due to diarrhea). I normally don't use anything on her.

we slather aquaphor each and every time. he has sensitive skin and has had diaper rash so we do it as precaution. the only exception is if we're out and about and doing a quick change.

i was going to post a similar question. i put something on #1 almost every time for a long while. she only got a diaper rash once when i switched brands at 18 months and it didn't fit well around one leg.
for #2, since turning 4-5 months, i started to only put something on for bedtime or when we are out and about. with her nature babycare diapers i also noticed that her skin barely ever turns even the slightest of red anymore at all.

We use A+D Prevent at poopy diapers and bedtime. He's never had diaper rash but I would hate him to have it...plus I love the smell and I think it keeps his sweet little bum ultra soft.
Does anyone use Baby Powder? I was gifted 3 bottles of the stuff and I think I'm going to toss it. I tried it on one diaper (b/c I love the smell) but it kindof got cakey in high moisture areas, which didn't look comfortable for me - I'm sure it didn't bother him.

We don't use anything but I know we should probably start using it at the bedtime diaper.

I put it on after poops and her bath. No diaper rash yet.

I'm still pregnant, but I have a story from babysitting.
The first summer the baby was 10 months old, so I only put on the cream if it looked like she had a bit of diaper rash. (Which she did get, mainly due to me and my not understanding how often a diaper needs to get changed).
Second summer, with the same baby at 22 months old, the baby would tell me every time to put the diaper cream on her. She insisted. (And incidentally, I developed a rash on my forearms from being allergic to it, I think).
Moral of the story for me is, babies like diaper cream. I do not.
@theknest: maybe save one baby powder for when your baby is a kid and has sunblock at the beach. Use it on top and it will help the sand to not stick to their skin.

Only if a diaper rash is actually present do we use diaper cream. We cloth diaper so we use EMAB's Angel Baby Bottom Balm.

My DH uses it, I don't so put any on. I think we have a good balance. No diaper rash yet. We used Anti Monkey Butt Cream at first, and now it's Desitin
